Jets fans would have a frenzy over anybody's 3rd string guard at this point, even a cut one. The Jets inability to put together a competent line for any period of time is just silly given how important that is to success in the NFL. The sad thing is that for the most part it's not injuries that have done the Jets in on the line. Mawae and Fabini got hurt and that did explain the end of the last solid group, however that solid group always seemed to be losing people and trying to fit aging journeymen and subpar young talent in around a couple of mainstays. I have no clue if Chad would have been a better QB if he had a really good line in front of him for 3 seasons running. It would be nice for us not to be asking the same question of Kellen Clemens in 5 years.
why is everyone so negative, critics said we were the 32nd out of 32 teams last year and we blew that up in their faces, believe people.......BELIEVE!
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/ According to Cimini, the Jets aren't interested in Vincent. This is from his blog (8/28). It's a little unusual to see that in a football locker room. The NFL is a now sport, with coaches and players programmed to focus on today, not yesterday. Ordinarily, there?s no room for waxing poetic about the past. It?s the ?Next Man Up? mentality, especially in the world of Eric Mangini. I mean, this is a coach who preaches the five-second rule; he wants players to forget the good and bad immediately, and to live in the present. But apparently his fondness for Martin runs so deep that he?s willing to make an exception, allowing the locker-room shrine. "Curtis still has a presence in the building," Mangini said. "And I love having Curtis around. He?ll always have a locker in Jets fans? hearts." This may not come as a shock: Pete Kendall?s locker has been cleaned out. There are no traces of him in the locker room. * * It?s hard to get fired up for the final preseason game because it?s an utterly meaningless affair. Eagles coach Andy Reid never plays his starters and I?m guessing Mangini will do the same. Last year, none of the Jets? top starters played in the finale. So look for Chad Pennington to take the night off. Kellen Clemens probably will start, followed by Marques Tuiasosopo and Brad Smith (or vice versa). This is a big game for Tuiasosopo and other bubble players, their last chance to convince the coaches they belong. Me? I?m concerned about the traffic from the Mets-Phillies game in the afternoon. * * Except for RB Thomas Jones (calf), the Jets are healthy. S Eric Smith (leg), CB/KR Justin Miller (hamstring) and CB Andre Dyson (leg) are well enough to play. Whether they do is another story. Jones will be ready by the opener, take that to the bank. * * The Ravens cut G Keydrick Vincent, sparking a frenzy among Jets fans that want them to acquire a veteran guard to replace rookie Jacob Bender. Chill out. My peeps tell me the Jets aren?t interested in Vincent, who would have trouble learning the Jets? system, according to my moles. So, please, let?s not have a Vincent vigil. * * The Jets announced they will honor Wayne Chrebet on Sept. 23 during halftime of the Jets-Dolphins game. No one deserves a ?day? more than Chrebet, one of the most popular players in franchise history. Can you believe the Jets actually found a company to sponsor Wayne Chrebet Day? I guess you can. They got a phone company to sign up. No truth to the rumor that Keyshawn Johnson will be the emcee. * * Here?s a classic: The name of Tom Brady?s new baby has been announced, and the initials are J.E.T. John Edward Thomas Moynahan. Maybe Chad Pennington will have another child and name him Patrick Arthur Timothy.
I think the Jets need to sign this guy but Miami have a need at guard and they get first dibs on released players. They may sign this guy just to screw us over.:finssuck:

NOT TRUE in Vincent's case. Since Vincent is a vested vet, when cut, he goes IMMEDIATELY into the FA pool.. no waivers.
I bet we could get him for some guaranteed Cheerios and a couple hundred Tootsie Rolls base pay, plus unlimited diaper changes.
See he did name his sources. His Moles! I have a few moles myself, but I prefer not to talk to them, let alone use them as sources. My skin doctor wants to remove one but I siad "he knows a lot about the Jets!" so i was allowed to keep it for now.
Guys, relax. Once teams cut down to 53 players there will likely be a variety of guard options to pounce on. Tangini isn't stupid, they'll play this smart, the fact that Vincent isn't visiting yet means in my mind they've already considered him and said no thanks, they don't think he's a fit...
i think he would be an equal value to kendall in my opinion, considering his old injury, which can still hamper him now, but we do need a guard like him.
So almost the entire AFC East is after this guy, that should drive his price up a little. Didn't the Bills sign 3 O-linemen in the offseason? I don't see why we need to see how Bender does before signing another guard? Does this have to do with roster limitations?
his stance is too wide and hes putting too much weight on his palm. it should be on the fingertips. and his right foot is pointed outward he needs to bring it in. WHAT A HORRIBLE PROSPECT
