That is fall-out-of-your-chair hilarious. Might Mangini be one-and-done in Cleveland? Think Ray Rhodes with the Packers, Rod Rust with the Patriots, Les Steckel with the Vikings, etc.
Is it me or has Mangini really gotten even worse since going to Cleveland? He was like this here but wasn't as bad as he is over there
Guy ain't a head coach. Did some good things here but is clearly out of his depth. His high school teacher act is a joke
Doesn't he realize that he is screwing things up there? Just amazing to watch him self destruct his own career.
The talent levels here in 2006 and 2008 were vastly better than they are in Cleveland, and I guess that covered up some of his insanity (in 2007 the injuries gave him a built-in excuse). He's just being exposed here - he is very far from being a leader of men.
I'm not a huge profootballtalk.com fan, but I do love Mike Florio's nickname for Mangini: Captain Queeg.
yes this is sooo win...but you gotta hate that this is happening to a franchise such as the Brown paper bags...
He really has been exposed and this could be a permanent end to any future head coaching oppty's in his career. It's back to being a DC after this stint ends and that's if he's lucky enough to get one.
I have Manmoron at the top of my fired list. I am rooting for it to happen before the end of the season.
Apparently Jets players filed grievances against him when he was here as well but he won all of the cases.
After he ratted out his former boss on Spygate, I didn't think that he would ever land another head coaching job in the NFL. Much less another one in just a few weeks. So I think it's too early to say that his goose is totally cooked in this league. After all, it only takes one dumb owner.
If I'm not mistaken he had connections within the Browns' orginization, which played a big part in them hiring him and hiring him so quickly. Sort of similar to Herm going to KC. Frighteningly similar, actually. Come to think of it... Herm = Leon, Mangini = Sanchez. That's what you call return on investment.
poor cleveland poor cleveland.they didn't know what they were getting.when they hired mangini.it didn't take long for the browns to realize that mangini is not what he thinks he is.they will be lucky to win three games this year.mangini is a disruptive force to any team that he will coach.I am so glad that the jets saw the handwriting on the wall and got rid of him. tanny outsmarted the browns with the trade they made for the sanchez pick.the jets are taking that choice all the way to the bank.
It's pretty unfair to call Mangini a "disruptive" coach. He came here when the team had very little talent and built a pretty good 3-4 defensive core and gave the jets 2 winning seasons in 3 trys. He laid the foundation for a winning team. People need to stop acting like Mangini was the worst coach the Jets ever had.
Could be his last parting shot at Belichick? Thank Chad too for the Miami win or we may have had to endure a few more years and the things we see today would not have come to pass but just fade like so many dreams.
