Agreed, I want no part of the Schottenheimers but that is what my gut feeling is and all the talk in the media is to this point.
well...if the Jets are going to make some noise...they better get on the ball....Spags already has been given permission to talk to the Lions.
If Sutton and Schottenheimer return next year, that would mean that they rehired Mangini. They're waiting for the new HC to come in and pick his assistants and coordinators before they let anyone go. Callahan and Westhoff are worth keeping around but aside from them there aren't too many I can imagine being employed here next year.
Since when does any new HC have to use current assistants? Except for Al Davis, I can't think of a situation where that is made to happen. Its the HC decision, pure and simple. Anyone trying to dictate an asst. to the HC is an idiot and will fail--witness Davis. I can see the organization recommending, say, Westhoff stay, and then the HC meets with Westy and they together decide if its a good fit. But no way does the new HC have to keep Sutton or Shotty. And if he did, I would see it as a red-flag right away and be very concerned.
Can a mod please change the thread title? Every time I see it I get excited for a second, then it's kind of a buzzkill.
geez--I didn't think that dumbass heirmendinger had anything to do with EM. Man, I hated that asshole. It seems like he can only be productive if he works for Fisher.
