How exactly did Belichick "launch" a dynasty with the Pats?

    Seriously, Id like to know.

fuck off junc I argued with you back and forth for awhile. I stopped when it's obvious you are biased and want to blame Parcells for all of the Jets problems and called going to a team with 4 wins in two seasons a "great situation". Don't patronize me with that last comment.

I love when folks have nothing and get flustered over nonsense. act like an adult for a change. Just b/c your arguments are weak and you look silly when trying to debate me doesn't mean you have to fly off the handle.

may or may not be? seriously? this was a man that tried to leave the Giants after their 1st SBN win, he was negotiating w/ Atlanta. a man that agreed to become TB head coach then backed out at the last second. a man that backed out of his contract w/ NE and became our HC.

it's not current spin, it's been known since 1997.

he did a poor job setting us up costing us the franchise QBs we have never had and a HOF coach while putting us in cap hell.

Gotta agree with you here Junc.

Not to go back and revisit things, but, in a perfect world we have Bellicheck as our HC and Peyton Manning as our QB right now if things were handled correctly.

People were pushing Peyton to declare and go play for Parcells but he would never guarantee that he would take him.

we'd have Peyton or Brady. after screwing up the #1 pick in 1997 if BB stays the same crew is in place that goes to NE and I would assume they take Brady here.

I still remember Parcells on the sideline during that game in Detroit that year, when they lost a shot at the playoffs. He is standing next to Neil O"Donnell on the sideline, and he says (mouths, but Helen Keller could have read their lips) to Neil: "Can you make one fucking play?" And O'Donnell turns to him and says: "Fuck you." I fell off my sofa, I laughed so hard. I am sure Bill knew what O'Donnell was. He just thought he could smart his way through, like Cowher did with this stiff.

he thought so highly of Neil that he had Leon Johnson and Ray Lucas attempting passes in that game.

The Leon Johnson play is still one of the most devastating plays (for me personally) in sports history. And everyone forgets that the Lions defender wasn't even in bounds. If we had instant replay, that interception is overturned.

I remember it was an incomplete pass, just a brutal call. the thing about replay is I don't have the confidence in them to get it right even w/ replay, we have seen so many bad calls not overturned. I hate replay.

Other than the Charlie Weis snippet (boy am I glad this guy's career fell off now) not much in there I didn't already know from Parcells' last book.

2 is ridiculous, it's not his fault Billy Boy jilted us at the alter. 3 is silly too, every frigging team had multiple chances to draft Brady, just because one story comes out twelve years later Parcells is the dope of all time because he overruled a guy on a sixth-round pick who might not have even got a run with us (he was far from a finished product in those days)? 4...we were ALREADY in cap hell with all the splurging we did in '95, what did Parcells do cap-wise that was so bad in comparison to NOD, Dave Williams, etc...Roman Phifer and Steve Atwater? We were in such cap hell we were still a borderline playoff team the next few years after Bill left. 5 is a fair charge to a degree but we didn't even have half our drafts because of the six high picks we used to get Parcells and Curtis.

we were not in cap hell, we got there w/ BP. the man that signed Bryan Cox to a deal we couldn't possibly keep him w/ as a parting gift as he left.

I was not talking about the Brady story that came out today, I was referring to running off BP. If BP stays he has his same staff he had in NE and I would assume would still take Brady.

Phifer, Atwater, Cox, Eric Green, etc... he had a million bad deals. also had a few that worked- Mawae & Curtis but most did not. he was not a good GM type.

Yes, Bryant Westbrook caught the pass while out of bounds.

I hate to agree with Junc but he is right here at least according to Archie Manning. Archie said Peyton and he decided they wanted Peyton to play for Parcells but they wanted a guarantee from Parcells that he would take Peyton with the #1 pick before Peyton would declare for the draft. Archie met with Parcells and Parcells would not guarantee it so Archie decided to keep him in school one more year. This was Archie's version in 2011 when Archie was suggesting Peyton might go to the Jets on 2012 before Jet collapse in 2011.

Seriously, you need to have very high mental strength to be a fan of this team. I can't believe we could have had Peyton Manning here, BB and Brady here. Christ...

Maybe he learned it from Parcells, who fucked over the Giants and Pats as he covertly negotiated his way out of both jobs behind their backs.

Belichick was smart to get the fuck away from Parcells. It was a no win situation for himworking UNDER the great Bill Parcells. If they win, it's because of the team Parcells built and is running from above. If they lose, he gave Belichick everything he needed to succeed but he fucked it up.

You can certainly criticize how it went down, but there is absolutely no doubt Belichick made the right move for him.
