Well getting lucky with Brady certainly helped. It wouldn't have been the right move if he fucked the Jets over and had a cleveland-like tenure in NE. He never would get another HC job again. And if he would've had a Cleveland-like term too if Brady hadn't have walked through that door. He would have a Wade Phillips type coaching career. And I don't deny that Parcells isn't a snake himself. But he's OUR snake and this is a NYJ website. Also -Parcells screwed NE over but he didn't lead a last second coup to embarrass them a day after accepting the job. He didn't take a massive bonus from a dying man with a promise he'd break before the undertaker could fill in the six foot deep grave.
No, but he spent a decent part of Superbowl week negotiating his way out of NE, and he talked the Pats RB into signing a poison pill contract that he knew the Pats couldn't match. As far as the ifs and buts of what COULD have happened... they don't matter. What matters is what actually happened and what happened was better for him than than staying with the Jets. That makes it the right decision.
Parcells isn't ours. of the 4 teams he coached he coached us the least amount of games, no one views BP as a Jet. it's Giant first, a Pat 2nd, Cowboy 3rd then a Jet.
