well theres why hes wrong with what hes even aiming to touch on. he should stick to baseball.

i just think it was a stupid piece regardless of the teams involved. he basically said "this team was so good and fun to watch. now theyre eliminated. does it make sense?"

you know, somewhat related to that blog/article or whatever that was in the OP.........I did see some Patriots on clean out your locker day (which was a pleasure to watch).....basically whining how difficult it was because they "beat all of the teams remaining".........of course not realizing I think how stupid that sounds when they lost 2 out of 3 to the Jets.

    Maybe they're on to something.

The NFL should have more of a BCS system! Where all the reporters vote on the #1, and #2 Teams -- and they play in The Superbowl! Playoffs are a waste of time ---

    Okay,
New England and Indianapolis every year! No need for playoffs. No need for a season!

If you guys want to put a smile on your face tune in to WEEI in Boston so you can listen to the hosts attack each other in frustration over their different explanations for the loss. I lol'd my ass off for 15 m.

Not really. He basically said that the regular season isn't that important, and it's what you do in the playoffs that really defines your season.

And that he loves the playoffs, and that he thinks it is fair.

    Irony.

In the article in the OP, Joe P writes that:

Yeah, admittedly, I didn't thoroughly read the article. You know, it's hard to take man children whining seriously -- I really just wanted to reiterate the consistent media bias we get year in and year out since the early 2000s.

If you're calling me out, then do so explicitly.

If not, thanks. This thread is painful - almost everyone has assumed the exact opposite of what the author actually wrote.

I think he was pointing out how the advantages of playing well in the regular season are diminishing. A very valid point. I think however in the end he felt it was fair and that's how it's worked well for years. The playoffs are the second season.

Really? You are going to attempt to defend this? I don't know if you noticed or not but the rest of the teams in the playoffs played pretty damn well too with the exception of the Seahawks. If anything is flawed it's the seeding system they use.

Waaaaaaah! If they didn't want a bye, they shouldn;t have been beating people by 30pts. It is not new news that the 1st seed gets a bye. And before the game,i'm sure they wanted nothing more than to play the jets. Now it's not fair? I guess nothing changes in NE. If your can't cheat and have everything go your way,it's just not fair. I hope it hurts for a long time, and i hope it hurts bad.

I didn't see anywhere where he said it was unfair.

A round robin (which is what this writer is insinuating can/should be used) wouldn't really work for the NFL.

There would be way too many games, players would beat themselves up too much and would age in 4 years.

A round robin works for soccer (system most widely used in this sport to determine their champions each season), but it's not for the NFL.
