Seems like the shoulder was never right, the last two times he was hurt it didn't look like anything out of the ordinary that could happen on any play. Sad to see but if he managed to fleece some cash out of the Dolphins good for him.
Please, Chad... Enough... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5809215 The Miami Dolphins haven't publicly revealed the prognosis for their damaged quarterbacks, but Chad Pennington will miss the rest of the season with a potentially career-threatening throwing shoulder injury, a source close to Pennington has informed ESPN.com. Pennington, reinstalled as the Dolphins' starting quarterback last week, was hurt on his first play in Sunday's 29-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans at Sun Life Stadium. He was hit while throwing an incompletion on the first play, completed a pass on the next play, then left the game. Pennington lost his starting job to Chad Henne in Week 3 of last season, when the two-time NFL Comeback Player of the Year suffered a season-ending right shoulder injury. Pennington was given his first start Sunday because the Dolphins' offense had been ineffective under Henne. Henne replaced Pennington and performed well, completing 19 of 28 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown with one interception before injuring his left knee in the third quarter. Henne left Sun Life Stadium on crutches. There has been no word on the extent of his injury pending the results of an MRI. With Pennington and Henne hurt, third-stringer Tyler Thigpen came off the bench Sunday and led the Dolphins to the victory.
Both Chad's hurt. Enjoy the rest of the season Gaysharks! BTW, Pennington is always a class act and stand up guy and I truly feel for him. If he ever wants back in the organization as a coach, I'd be more than happy to have him. For reasons like this is why you keep a third QB who has actual game experience. As much as we all really don't care for K. Clemens, he has played in the system and has actua game experience if the ground ever fell out from under the current Jets QB's.
Looks like you're right. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/11/15/chad-pennington-is-out-maybe-for-good/ Quarterback Chad Pennington took part in only two plays Sunday in making his season debut for the Dolphins. The good news? They were worth $3.25 million to him, because of a bonus clause in his contract that raised his salary to $5.75 million from $2.5 million if he was named Miami’s starter.
someone on Finheaven started a thread yesterday suggesting that Pennington had actually faked his injury to "steal" from the Fins.
Than that special someone who started that thread just does not know Pennington at all. Shame someone thinks like that.
