I would do that... I would try to get a 1st or a 2nd and 3rd, but Harvin is a good idea. The organization loved him in 2009 and tried to trade up for him but couldnt find a partner. He could take over that Desean Jackson type role in MM WCO. He's actually a great fit. We could also use him as a KR and a RB. His contract situation is iffy but if he could resign with us for a reasonable price and then we cut Holmes it would help in a big way. Harvin is one of the biggest playmakers in the league. That is something we desperately need.
he isn't Randy Moss in his prime but very few are. Harvin is currently one of the most explosive players in the league, can play 2 positions on offense and change a game from either spot and returns kicks to the house at any give moment. Harvin is on the cusp of being a top 5 WR in the NFL if given a better QB which I'd have to think the Jets are going to work toward. He would add an explosive dimension to our offense we simply do not have, lining up at 2 positions of current need for explosion.
Dead on. I'm not the best at placing value on picks in trades to be honest, so we may be able to get even more. His contract situation is iffy but the difference between his situation and Revis' is that Harvin isn't looking to re-define the pay scale at the position. And exactly, his cost would off set once Holmes is off the books. We would then have a very solid group of young WR's in Harvin, Kerley and Hill. The face of our offense would change almost immediately. We can then focus efforts on finding a suitable QB and a stop gap such as Alex Smith almost becomes more enticing with a weapon like Harvin in this type of offense. Smith throwing high percentage passes and letting Harvin do the rest would be almost a match made in heaven given the circumstances. Even further would you trade Revis and Kerley for Harvin and their 1st? Because while Kerley is a good player he can be replaced in the draft or in FA once the cap opens up.
Yea... I think that's what nelly was talking bout when he closes his eyes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6O2ncUKvlg
I wouldn't mind Harvin coming to the Jets. Holmes - Harvin - Hill - Kerley could be a very formidable unit. We could use another experienced guy in our WR core while Hill develops.
Harvin Available !!! That's the guy for the Jets to go after. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/02/09/max-says-vikings-may-try-to-trade-percy-harvin/
Not Revis for Harvin, but how about Sanchez and a draft pick? Gives Minn some competition and insurance against Ponder sucking it up again next year. But, there is that whole contract thing.
Why would the jets have no choice but to trade Revis this offseason? Revis should not be a priority this year, let the man play out his contract and if he plays like he always has in 2013, then you offer him a contract extension. Trading him while his value is at it's absolute lowest, when his currently salary is perfectly manageable under the cap, and we have so many other holes to fill? Yeah, brilliant idea. I love Percy Harvin, but under no circumstances would I ever consider putting out best player as a part of that trade. Honestly, with Holmes-Edwards-Kerley-Hill as our WRs corp, I'm pretty satisfied.
Attitude issues aside, Harvin would be a great pickup for the Jets. He'd be the dynamic playmaker that this offense is missing. Only 24 years old, his entire career is in front of him. Coming into the last year of his contract at $2.9 million for 2013 so a relative bargain for what he adds to this team talent wise. The only downside is the Vikes will be looking for at least a 2nd rounder for him, maybe more.
imagine the tebots reaction if we trade for harvin and kept tebow. holy shit they would have seizures imagining the good ol days again
You think Revis is going to accept anything other than top dollar months before becoming a free agent? Lmao!
harvin for a 2nd rounder would be a deal if you need a wr. who in the draft are you going to take with a 2nd that you know will be better than harvin? i don't rank wr as a big need for us so i wouldn't do it.
