Every year its in our best interests...I know that last year was a steal perpetrated on one of the most retarted drafting teams in the league ('skins), but I am not against it happening every single year if the talent we want does not match the value of our draft position. You have to think long term in these things...an extra day one pick for sliding down a few spots would be great every year!

When Jets got Miller he was considered a steal..right? Were you really expecting him to be a star at this point in his career. I think more of Ross now than I did Miller back then.

And Ross isn't going to be a star. He'll probably be a good nickelback and maybe even a good cornerback down the road, but his value right now is mainly on special teams returning punts and kicks.

penn state paul is a good LB, and def a 'mangini guy", BUT we already have 1 undersized LB (albeit a good one) in JV. we can ill afford to take on another undersized guy. if we go backer in round 1, and i have my choice of the guys projected to be around at our pick, i go with jarvis moss. hes big, but plays unencumbered. spencer would be another guy that comes to mind.

i the PSU paulie (i wouldnt attempt to spell his name) can be a solid pro, but for the game we play hes not big enough. jarvis is around 6-6 250 lbs....a big, versatile speed rusher that can come off the edge either as an end, or an OLB....he fits the system well.

If we dont go Blalock or Ross, it should be Spencer.

Speaking of Ross, since when does a CB get a first round grade playing nickle or dime back in college? This is the first I have heard of this so please provide proof.

Speaking of Spencer, he'd be fine at strong side ILB or weak side OLB. A perfect compliment to Vilma or Thomas.

It just goes to show that the vast majority of what is written pre-draft is meaningless speculation. We read it because there's nothing else football-related to do, but it really doesn't mean anything.

To be fair, there were a lot of people that year who didn't think Revis would last as long as he did. I would tell fans of other teams that he was my top choice for the Jets and they'd just laugh. I'd have no response but "Yeah, I know..." I couldn't imagine we'd be able to snag him.
