Thanks for the response. The bottom line is, even if King occasionally talks to Favre, he does not have a record of getting the real story even when it comes to Favre. I also agree that the month ago thing indicates that whatever Favre said it was not some kind ore response to the statement Woody made about off season training.

Aaron Rodgers is a first round pick who has played an entire season and looked pretty good. Brett Ratliff threw a couple easy passes to a #5 WR vs. #3 defenses in a couple preseason games.

I know. It's just that there is such a love-fest going on here for him, that I was trying to be charitable. The comment I went on to make about me having a shot to be president in kindergarten too was not meant to be reassuring

I'm sick of the Brett Ratliff bullshit. The amount of love for this guy on this board is so rediculous.

Anyone notice that anyone who was a big chad fan is now a Ratliff fan.

I could not have been any bigger of a Chad fan, but I am not on the Ratliff bandwagon at all.

I don't believe there is a Ratliff bandwagon. When he played he looked great. But his body of work is too small to make a clear assessment of his talent. What many of us would like to see is that he's given a chance to show if his play was a fluke or he really has some ability, things many of just don't see in Clemens.

Peter King and Favre do talk a lot with each other, but this article appears more along the lines of speculation and gut feeling.

You really can't predict what Favre is going to do, I actually think he will come back do to pride (even though he says he has nothing more to prove, I think he would prefer to prove more), but Favre is going to stay silent until he makes his decision, so until then its anyone's guess. Favre did say he won't be having a press conference this year so we will probably hear the news from either the Jets, Chris Mortenson (pretty sure he was first to break Favre's retirement and unretirement stories), or Glazer (he isn't close to Favre, but he seems to hear everything first).

I second that sentiment. As big a fan of Chad as I was - I'm in Brett's corner now. Kellen Clemens and Brett Ratliff would be privileged and honored to be Favre's backup, and nothing more.

The only thing I can say about current QB players on Jets roster is:

    1. Kellen Clemens is done. He will make a fantastic clipboard holder on the sideline.

    That aside:

    2. I actually like the tools this Ainge kid has - better-than-average arm (Of course, not a top notch, but if it's not a patented Pennington Flutter (TM) I am happy with that.) and a good height. (Also 6'4" I think.) He looked like he needed some time with his footwork and mechanics though, and add his lack of experience as a NFL QB, and we have a project. May not be ready in another year - but once he is ready, he'd be a good one. Also, remember he came from a good program (Vols.) and he excelled there too. If Jets can establish a mean running game, that would help him with his transition quite a bit.

    3. Or... Brett Ratliff. All in all, I am in agreement with the sentiment that this kid could be something special.

Remember. Tom Brady came out of Michigan (where he was 7th man on the roster chart once.) during 6th round. Sure, you cannot count on that happening every year, but with the scale tilting more to the "nurturing" side of the game more heavily, I don't see why the two kids don't deserve a shot.

It's premature because he only played a few preseason snaps, but he was a hell of a lot more fun to watch than fuckup Clemens who is terrible. Take off the green colored glasses and see KC is NOT a starting QB. Is Ratliff? No way to tell yet.

PS. I hate Pennington and I'm on the Ratliff bandwagon.

Even with a shit OL, if Clemens was any good we'd see flashes of quality. He seriously showed nothing. Then next year in preseason, he throws picks wholesale. KC=SHIT.

Again, the OL didn't make the throws he did. Stop blaming them for how really pathetic Clemens is. You can blame the OL for the running game, the rest is on the QB and the current OL didn't protect for Favre any better than that one did for Clemens at all.

Please retire Brett. The cap room is needed.

No Chad. No Clemens. Favre? I don't know...But he's the best of the trio, not that it's saying much.

Clemens showed decent arm strength, but too much happy feet and checkdowns...

I don't care about a 4-12 season with a Young QB, but we saw nothing in his 6-8 starts.
