Thankfully we get them at our place.... Its Miami who looks nearly unbeatable nowadays that scares me. They blewout Chicago. They beat playoff contender KC. They will be tough at their place. No Joke. Theyre gonna brawl with us on Christmas day on MNF.
yeah, that game will be intense. i think Miami is very beatable when you don't turn the ball over. that seems to generate a lot for them, more so than the average team that forces a turnvover. looking ahead a couple of years, the AFC East will be ridiculously competitive. cheers
Lets hope that this ''hand problem'' for Ronnie Brown is continuous, because our run D will not handle this guy. It didnt back in the meadowlands, and it wont at Pro Player Stadium. Only way to beat Miami is to pressure Harrington(Which we did back in the last game, and won rightfully so). Also as you said play the way they did vs Houston, mistake free football.
can't wait for that game, it;s going to be a great game IMO and most likely will have major playoff implications, possibly for miami too....i'm flying to the bahamas christmas day, anyone know if they will get the monday night football game?
The only good thing is that miami will most likely lose a game before they play the jets, and will be eliminated at that point (most likely). That will take some steam out of their sales. With that said, we already beat them once so its not like its our first meeting. The jets have done pretty well at miami over the last 10 years. We caught a huge break with jacksonville losing. They will most likely drop some more games. They are at miami next and have dates with the colts, patriots and chiefs. The good news is that all we would need to do is tie KC at 10-6 and we could have the tie breaker over them. Currently they have 4 conference losses as do we, but they only play afc teams the rest of the way.
The Bears didn't help at all. It would have been nice if they knocked off the Pats....Looks like Seau's career is over. Anybody see that arm injury?
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/playoffrace Divison Leaders 1. Colts 9-1 2. Ravens 9-2 3. Chargers 9-2 4. Patriots 8-3 Wildcards 5. Chiefs 7-4 6. Broncos 7-4 In the Hunt 7. Bengals 6-5 8. Jaguars 6-5 9. JETS 6-5
The Jet's Playoff chances: games that mattered this week: Thursday, November 23rd Miami (5-6, 10th seed) beats Detroit. -1 Notes: Miami is still alive in the playoff race and has a game left against the Jets in Miami. Kansas City (7-4, 5th seed) beats Denver (7-4, 6th seed). Neutral Notes: Both of these teams look like a lock for 10-6 effectively setting the floor for the wildcards this year. Sunday, November 26th Jets (6-5, 9th seed) beats Houston. +1 Jet's currently are at the bottom of the 3-way Cincinnati-Jacksonville-Jet's tiebreaker. That's neither here or there however because KC and/or Denver are likely the teams that the Jets need to beat out in tie-breaker scenarios, with Jacksonville (likely) and Cincinnati (unlikely) falling by the way beforehand. Cincinnati (6-5, 9th seed) beats Cleveland. -1 Cincinnati is the team on the outside currently looking like it has the best shot at a wildcard. Buffalo (5-6, 11th seed) beats Jacksonville (6-5, 7th seed). +1 This goes as a +1 because Jacksonville has the tiebreaker on the Jets and really needs to finish with less than 10 wins for the Jets to have any real shot at the playoffs. Baltimore (8-2, 2nd seed) beats Pittsburgh (4-7, 12th seed). +1 This goes as a +1 because Pittsburgh effectively fell out of the race with the loss and Baltimore is a prohibitive favorite to win the AFC North at this point, with a 2 game lead on the Bengals. New England (8-3, 3rd seed) beats Chicago. -1 The Jet's chances to catch New England for the AFC East title basically hinge on a Tom Brady injury at this point. Doubtful. Overall the Jet's chances on making the playoffs stayed about even this week. They got a crucial game closer to Jacksonville however in the process they fell from 8th to 9th seed as Cincinnati, which loses a two team tiebreaker with the Jets, wins a three team tiebreaker with the Jets and Jacksonville. Key matchups next week: Baltimore at Cincinnati. The Jets really need a Ravens win on the road here. Jacksonville at Miami. Ewwwww, nothing looks good here. Probably a Fins win helps the Jets but god help any Jet's fan who roots for the Dolphins in November. Seattle at Denver. A Seahawk's win would help a lot. Kansas City at Cleveland. The Browns could pay back the Jets for beating them if they also took it to Herm's team. Detroit at New England. Yeah, right...
so basically we need either the chiefs or the broncos to lose?? if they do, do we control our own destiny?? or will we need help? **never mind saw the previous post./
Yes and yes. However, did you folks really think the Bears were going to win today? Going 3-0 on that road trip seemed to tall an order. The loss is not terribly damaging to the Bears because it was against an AFC team. Now is the time for Lovie Smith to make the switch to Brian Griese. Chicago's remaining opponents all currently have losing records. I could see Griese putting forth a good game against Minnesota next week. Tha Patriots will win the division. The Jets sneaking in as the 5th or 6th seed is fine.
Right now if Cincinnati, Denver and Kansas City all finish with 10 or more wins the odds are pretty strong the Jets are out unless they win 11. Jacksonville and Miami are the other teams that might get to 10 wins, although the odds on Miami and the Jets both finishing with 10 wins are low so Miami doesn't really figure into a 10 win Jet's scenario.
denver is going with cutler for the rest of the seasonccording to reports Jax has to play KC the last game of the year so one of those teams gets the L in week 17 - not to mention @ miami, colts, @titans, and NE - the fact that they can't win on the road and and have the colts and pats as their home games makes 10 wins very tough
The Bengals won't finish with 10 wins, probably not even 9. And in a three way tie between Jets, Broncos, and KC, Jets would move on as KC and Den are in the same division.
No to JAX and MIA getting to 10 wins. I don't think either is going to get beyond .500. As far as the CIN-DEN-KC thing, I'm not sure about that. In the event of such a particular 4-way tie, one of the two AFC West teams would be eliminated on a tiebreaker. That would then make it a three-way tie between the Bengals, Jets, and the AFC West team. There are still too many games remaining and certain losses hurt more than other losses due to tiebreaker reasons, but the Jets tiebreakers right now are not bad. They just don't want to be tied only with Jacksonville. (The Jets actually can be tied with Jacksonville in a 3-way or 4-way tie and survive.)
We would beat KC in a tie breaker. If KC and Denver are tied, and KC beats them in a tie breaker then we beat out denver as well. Miami wont win 10 games, they have a tough schedule ahead. If Jets can beat buffalo and end up with the same record as miami, we would eliminate miami based on division record. Its still to early to forecast so many games. Lets just get to 8-5 and see where the cards fall...
Jacksonville just doesnt look like they will do it this year A. They cant beat the weak teams like Buffalo and Houston. B. They are 0-4 on the road. YES 0-4, and they head out to Miami. Easy pickings for Miami here. If you cant win on the road, your not making the postseason. I dont care who you are. Denver is starting a rookie and he gets Seattle right away. I think Denver will fall up short. Its down to Cincy and the Jets IMO.
look at some of these potentially key Week 17 games: Steelers at Bengals (the Steelers will be dangerous here because those teams hate each other and the Steelers have won 5 straight games in Cincinnati) Raiders at Jets Bills at Ravens Dolphins at Colts Jaguars at Chiefs 49ers at Broncos Cardinals at Chargers
