You are buying into the illusion that is the Oregon offense beating up on college defenses that are not prepared, the same Oregon offense that hasnt produced an NFL starting QB to date. Mariotta can make the passes in college, but reading NFL defenses is much more difficult, especially if Mariotta isnt in a high paced offense that takes advantage of the defense not the necessary changes on the fly, and even if he is in a fast paced offense, it still does not guarantee he would have success.
You don't judge a QB by the college system he is playing in. It is not Mariota's fault that Oregon is running that system. A QB playing in a pro system in college gives you more hint about his translation into NFL but if a QB has a high football IQ and other good QB qualities you don't diss him just because he isn't playing in a pro system. Just my humble opinion.
Who cares if Oregon hasn't produced a starting QB?I guess we should pass on Jameis, because FSU hasn't produced a quality QB ?I guess we should pass on Cook if he comes out, because MSU hasn't produced a quality QB in recent memory as well? That's foolish. Yes, Mariota has his flaws just like every QB does; if you guys want Jay Cutler , or another medicore veteran knock yourselves out. But I Want a potential franchise changing QB, and Mariota and Winston can be that. More responsibility has been placed on his shoulders this season, and I can show you instances, where he was forced to read the defense and make a quick decisions, I can show you instances, where he threw Wide Receivers open, and froze the saftey with his eyes. Does he need time? Of course he does, and so does Jameis Winston and every QB in CFB. Smart Quarterbacks adapt and if Mariota is that he will . Andrew Luck spoiled folks, it's ridiculous. You want a perfect prospect? Andrew Luck is not happening again.
I'm actually stating a fact, you're the one being a sarcastic cunt. You can spin it anyway you want. I disagree with you (with or without the Heisman) Mariota is a turd in a punch bowl.
You are being a troll because (i) you haven been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that you are a troll and (ii) every thing you've said in this thread has been moronic and stupid and typically Soxx trollish such that it defies intelligible discord and can't be rationally discussed. You've reverted to Soxx the Dbag troll for no reason other than you want to troll. You lose the Internet. And don't you fucking dare claim Internet terrorisim you internet fucking troll. _
I don't know y nobody else sees it. Mariota is the next russell wilson. Everything about his playing style, mechanics, reactionary behaviors....he looks like a playmaker. He makes quick decisions and solves pash rush attacks to escape. He's good enough to make the short throws on the run and has the arm to make decent deep throws. He's extremely fast, but doesn't need his feet to be successful. Success is success. I don't want to hear BS about the "System". This guy has thrown dozens of TD with only 2 interceptions this year. That doesn't happen by coincidence or mistake...he makes smart decisions with the football and is a smart player. For ONCE...they should go ahead and draft a turnover free QB.
btw. Jameis will be a bust. He is an average pocket passer at best. If he had mobility...that would be a plus...but Winston is not a running quarterback. He relies on his accuracy which is alright, but the guy throws way too many interceptions and has only thrived around the weapons around him. Not only that, but the dude will wind up in Jail or in trouble with the league in time. That screams "stay away" to me. This guy is the next Geno.
Geno Smith was a turnover free QB in college, that hasn't translated to the pros. Granted, Mariota is a better prospect than Geno ever was, but the point still remains.
Besides JStokes, the man argument of why Marcus Mariota will be a good NFL QB is trying to tell us that Jameis Winston will not lol. I don't understand the hate for Stokes, dude has a great argument for Mariota and I've love to have the kid at QB but damn, hating on Jameis won't make him worse LOL
A heisman trophy winner with the most passing yards in NFL History?Vinny Testeverde 46,223.There's a curse attached to the heisman trophy just take a look at Sam Bradford,Tim Tebow,RG3 and even Cam Newton,Matt Leinhart,Jason White won the heisman as a QB and never even got drafted. It looks like if we end up drafting a qb it will be a Heisman winner in Mariota or Crab Legs Winston
Let's hope Manziel kills it for the Browns this weekend and takes them on a surprise playoff run to give us hope in Heisman QBs
