I honestly like our WR group. When you are trying to go younger and develop some WR, you have to take some risks. I love the potential we have at WR, and hopefully they step up.

Lets be honest. Its easy to say the Jets, like the Dolphins, have promising young WRs in development. The facts are you have Holmes and no one else. That equates to having one of the worst WR corps in the NFL.

Before you go haywire, the Dolphins are in the same boat. We have Devon Bess and not much else and are in the discussion of one of the worst WR corps in the NFL.

Cleveland has the distinction though of having the worst WR corps IMO.

I would agree that we have one of the least developed WR corps, but the distinction of having the "worst" or one of the worst WR corps will be made once the season is underway. We shouldn't make too many assumptions before the season starts since great WRs can come from UFAs and 7th rounders (Cruz, for example).

This applies to both the Jets and Miami.

BTW, I think Hill is one of the most promising rookie WRs in the league right now. He has done some amazing things in training camp; now its his turn to turn that into production during games.

I think Hill is going to disappoint a lot of people because his contributions will largely come in the run game as an edge blocker. I wouldn't be surprised if a normal game for Hill is 2-3 catches and 60 yards tops.

Sanchez's best ball he ever threw was his bombs to Edwards on the numbers, every time. Edwards probably dropped half of them. If Hill can be a deep threat, and get separation, nobody in the league throws that ball better than Sanchez.

If Hill has 2 or 3 20+yd catches a game I don't think you'll have too many disappointed fans. Shit, the Jets could barely manage to pull off 2 or 3 20+yd passes all season last year.

If he excels as a blocker but doesn't have much production catching the ball, sure, people will gripe, but that's just because people don't pay attention to WRs contributing as blockers, they want to see stats.

However he contributes, I just hope he can live up to his potential because on paper the kid is off the charts.

The article enlightened me in one respect. We have size across the board with this group - something not many Jets receiving corps through the years have had.

I am not worried about this group, but I still miss having a "sure thing", like Cotchery.

Jeremy Kerley is gonna be big for us to I think as well. Last year JK threw that tight spiral to Mulligan for a 41 yard gain. So hopefully we are incorporating plays where he can be like a Antwaan Randle El for us.

With T.O on the way to Seattle to work out today the pickings are getting slimmer. Is Plax the only other option left?

Wouldnt want him back I think we are good at WR and the guys that are there now will step up big. We dont need a big name to be successful

Sometimes its better to grow to love the player(Chrebet) than bring a player in where you expect such and such and he lets us down

I disagree, Holmes goes down Schillens is the #1 he too is often injured as he is currently. Mark Sanchez will not progress this season to the QB we all want him to be with rookie WRs who have very little NFL experience.

I just thought Plax was more of a TD catching Possesion receiver and we need more than that this year we need some YAC ... He is experienced and Tall but its like a waste of a roster space when we could see what these younger guys can bring to the table. Let them step up. We always get 1 year fixes.

We won't know about Hill until the season is well underway but keep in mind that not many rookie WRs can come in and make a significant contribution. Not that he won't but don't be disappointed if he doesnt.

Exactly very few rookies come in and make a significant contribution in their first season. Tanne and Rex better get busy to bring in at least 1 if not 2 WRs for depth and experience. No way can you go into the season with what we got on this team. No way in hell.

what would be good numbers for Hill this year? Im not thinking outrageous like a 1000 yard season. but what would be a good contribution

I would be very pleased with this production.

About 42 catches for 800 yards as a rookie? Yeah, I would take that.

Figuratively speaking. I'm new-ish to the Jets fanbase and he is one of the reasons.
