OK. You want to correlate a salary scale to contributions to winning. QB aside, if a "premium" position, and lets define premium as paying more salary than other positions, in other words a premium, has a higher pay scale its because presumably the skills required to excel at the position are scarce and hard to find. This is laughable of course. Every position requires scarce skills in order to excel. If not, the Jets would not be laughable. A chain only as strong as weak link. Every organization has experts on staff to help pick players that contribute to winning. The draft order determines contract one. They are so often wrong as everyone knows. So expertise doesn't help much in determining which positions are all important. I could argue that center is more important than LT. Or field goal kicker. And so on. You need good players all over.

Just because that's true doesn't mean making bad decisions in a draft like reaching or going too far into positional need.

Not sure if you have listened to Glenn and Moug but they said they don’t care about positional value, if they like a player they will draft him.

Jets are using analytics to build their board, I don’t think they will see their selections as a reach or not, simply an asset they think can help the team.
