You know why the Colts are ahead of the Jets? 'Cause of PEYTON MANNING. ESPN tends to give The "Big Names" more credit than the actual team playing well at the time which is us. Also, ESPN loves OFFENSE which is why Drew Brees and NO is ahead. I think that if the Jets were averaging 30-40 points per game, you'd see THEM toward the top of the rankings.... ESPN doesn't give two sh*ts about "Defense".
imagine the Bronco fans who are 2-0 but behind the 0-2 Dolphins in the rankings. yeah, that makes sense.
Yeah, I think the Jets are ranked as low as they are because they are the Jets. They have a history of losing/disappointing and that affects people's opinions. With time (and more wins) that losing stigma will pass. Personally I think the Saints got the shaft worse than we did on the rankings. 7 or 8 is right about where I'd put us at this point.
I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh and Arizona weren't 1 and 2 after Week 2 last year. This isn't the BCS. They're interesting but in the end meaningless and not something to get worked up over.
I like these rankings go to fox sports and search power rankings then look at whatifsports rankings Jets are #1 Sorry can't post link, new to the board.

St. Louis Rams _________________________ The Pats are ahead of the Jets? The should be 0 - 2... Same with the Chargers... Philly just had their doors blown off at home... The Colts have no Defense and barely an Offense other than Manning & Clark... The Giants at 1? If it wasn't for Romo they would have been blown out too What a bullshit list... No wonder it's from the same organization who wrote the anti Jet fan piece
the vikings beat the Browns and Lions. They aren't a top 5 team yet. The Giants may have won two divisional games, but the Cowboys and Skins are pedestrian this year, so they aren't the best team in the league. Its either Atlanta or Baltimore.
Yeah, except they're not just dicking over the Jets in these rankings. The Saints' offense is the best in the league (or second best to Houston) and their defense is better than Atlanta's, yet they are behind Atlanta in all of these rankings. Yeah, they only beat Detroit and a McNabb-less Eagles squad, but the NFC South is going to be ridiculous just because of New Orleans and Atlanta. Who did the Falcons beat? Miami? Jake Delhomme's dumb ass, which is holding the Panthers back? Yeah, they're definitely the real deal. Oh yeah. The 49ers are buried despite being an up and coming team in the league that's in the weakest division in the league. From how things are shaping up in the NFC West, it'll just be pathetic if the San Francisco Singletaries don't make the playoffs. The Texans, despite their performance against the Jets, will own the AFC South this year unless they suffer serious injuries. The Ravens are being snuffed because their defense isn't the same, but their offense isn't the same either, so why are they buried like they are in these rankings? The Titans are NOT an 0-2 team, and while they may lose to the Jets this week, I'd still expect them to, at worst, break even by the end of the season. The team is too talented and well coached not to. The Colts are average at best and are without Anthony Gonzalez for at least half the season and yet both NBC and CBS have them at #2. Whoa, they beat an injured, rebuilding Jags team? Amazing! They just barely beat a heavily overrated Dolphins team? Crown them now! I don't care if they have Peyton Manning, I'll eat all the crow you want if this team can even make it past the wild card round, though I almost as strongly expect them to miss the playoffs entirely. It isn't that these rankings are just generally bad. It's that they appear, for the most part, to be written by people who don't actually watch games but rather just go by what they've heard in the past.
The Jets are #1 in the only power rankings that actually count: AFC East Jets 2-0 Patriots 1-1 Bills 1-1 Dolphins 0-2
thats why all these rankings suck. they all have their own bias towards or against certain teams. in the end they are all just opinions, and we all know that opinions are just like assholes.
Are you? Didn't u see the asswhooping of Mr. Belishit and his son, Brady? His only endzone attempt was tipped. Never came anywhere close to it again. And we could have very easily turned this game into a 23-9 win had we not taken a couple of knees at the end as opposed to the Pats who couldn't even smell the end zone.
