Players staying healthy is always a big "IF", but as of right now...With a healthy David Harris (See rookie season, where he dominated without a true 3-4 NT on the line) along with Kris Jenkins (Has played each and every game 6 of the 8 years he's been in the league)... Togehter, Scott, Harris and Jenkins can really make for one of the best run D Jet fans have seen in quite some time from the Jets--Has the potential to be tough as nails against the rush thanks to the addition of Bart Scott. Also, with or without Calvin Pace for the 1st 4 weeks, Rex Ryan is one of the best 3-4 Defensive minded coaches in the game today-He really does send the pressure from all different types of angles and we still have Bryan Thomas who recorded 8 1/2 sacks in 06 along with another 5 1/2 last year. If Gholston can get any type of pass rush during the first 4 weeks...We should be pretty solid. When Calvin Pace gets back, watch out.
There are few things more meaningless than power rankings in a sport where they actually play games, keep records, and have playoffs and a championship that are determined based on those records and games won in the playoffs. This is the NFL, not college. All that matters is your team's record at the end of the year, not what anyone "thinks" about your team relative to others in the NFL. NFL rankings are idiotic and anyone who gets all worked up over them is wasting their time and emotions.
But there's no point in talking about it. Talk about the team and what their record will be or who will win the position battles. It is inane to complain or lose sleep because some media guy or internet blogger ranked the Jets 21 instead of 15 and below Buffalo. What does it matter?
Time and again: WHO GIVES IT A SHIT??????????????????????????????? Does ranking #1 in the pre-camp ensure the SB berth? If so, I'd give it a shit. If not, this thing can fuck off and see if I care. Quite apparently, there are a LOT of people who need something to be pissed off at on this board.
This is so unbelievably true. We shouldn't be any higher than 21 and we probably shouldn't even be that. Our QB (whoever that may be) is unproven, our WR's, quite frankly, are unproven and suck behind Cotchery. Ouor RB's are strong and our defense is strong but who the hell knows whats going to happen.
