Goofed up previously. Here are my predictions. 1) CLE- Rosen QB 2) NYG- Darnold QB 3) IND- Barkley RB 4) CLE- Nelson OG 5) DEN- Mayfield QB 6) NYJ- Allen QB
Shocked? I find it interesting that anyone would be shocked if 2 trades happen in the top 6 picks. I think most people will be shocked if 2 trades don't happen in the top 6 picks.
Yes, shocked. With Cleveland, Denver and the Jets definitely needing QBs and the Giants quite possibly wanting/taking one, I'd be very surprised if any of them traded down. With Cleveland's 2nd pick they could add Barkley, Chubb, Fitzpatrick or another stud who could help their team, so why trade down? They had a bunch of picks last year, and have several additional picks this year. The only team I could see likely to move down would be the Colts, and even they should probably stay put and take either Chubb or Barkley.
I'm constantly hearing talk on the radio that the perception is that the Giants do not want to take a QB this year. They're committed to make a 2 year run with Manning & that they'll monitor Webb's progress & consider taking a QB next year. The options for them at 2 are Chubb, Barkley or trade down & take Nelson later. So obviously, they're taking a QB at #2 or #1.
There's many permutations that can wind up with 2 trades. One crazy thought that I believe Kirwan brought up, is Cleveland moving up from #4 to #2 to land Chubb & their QB. The number of trades will depend on how many QBs the teams at the top like. If Denver and/or NYJ are Rosen/Darnold or bust, then they'll be open to moving up & should they fail, moving back. A QB needy team won't reach for the 3rd or 4th QB that they're not crazy about, just due to need.
I could be wrong. Just because I'd be shocked if it happens, doesn't mean that I think it's not possible or won't happen.
CLE - Saquon Barkley (Elite RB plus they know with the 4th they can still get a top tier QB) NYG - Josh Rosen (Time to start getting ready to replace Eli) IND - Bradley Chubb (Need that edge rusher) CLE - Sam Darnold (Poor kid is screwed) DEN - Josh Allen (Big, strong-armed QB. Exactly what Denver loves) NYJ - Lamar Jackson (I could also see Mayfield, but we are desperate for a franchise QB and I think Jackson is the most dynamic QB left)
I am assuming Cleveland signs or trades for a Qb. Question was predict the first 6 picks. I believe one or more of the qbs will slide down closer to 10. Additionally, I have seen Jackson play(have you?) (Btw he played at Iowa) and imo he is the best corner in the draft and worthy of a top 10 pick.
In order to make a pick as to how one would FEEL, that would have to include the FA acquisitions before the draft. So , It's wiser to wait it out.
RIF I didn't say that YOU were referring to LAMAR Jackson, but that the person you were responding to was. It was clear that you were speaking about Josh Jackson.
1. Browns: Darnold 2. Giants: Rosen 3. Colts: Barkley 4. Browns: Chubb 5. Broncos: Mayfield 6. Jets: Allen Cousins signs with the Vikings.
