Rodgers gets the ball out quickly, but if Bulaga is out as well, the Jets ought to: be able to make him throw sooner than he wants to creating more incompletions and perhaps even creating an interception or two; sack him a few times, and possibly even get a strip sack or two. In addition, with Raji out, the Jets should be able to run the ball consistently. If the Packers tackle (miss tackles actually) like they did against the Seahawks last night, the Jets should be able to get a number of big plays and several long scores, which if our OL keeps Geno clean and he plays well and doesn't turn the ball over himself, the Jets should have a very good chance to win. I think it was Michaels last night who talked about what a great job Ted Thompson has done as the Packers' GM. I have to disagree. He has an eye for offensive play makers, but way undervalues the OL and evidently aside from Raji, Matthews and Shields, doesn't have a great eye for defensive players.
Rodgers now is better than Rodgers in 2010. The Packers team minus Rodgers is better in 2010 than it is now.
Raji hasn't been good since 2010 in my opinion. The dude should have fired Dom Capers years ago though.
So you wanted to call a score that is within 2.5 points of the average for an NFL team, within 2.1 points of the per game average on offense by the Packers last year and within .2 points of the per game average given up by the Jets last year, ballsy.
He sure looked good last night, couldnt even throw a pass toward Sherman. Never seen Rodgers so scared in my life.
Troll logic. Brady looked scared against the Giants in 2007 SB, clearly that was a terrible QB year for him, right? I'm just using your logic.
He didnt avoid an entire side of the field, look I kid about Rodgers but he IS NOT Peyton or Brady. (although I do feel bad he is stuck with McCarthy)
No he just acted like there were 15 defenders on the field at a time. Rodgers has played at a Peyton and Brady level after 2010. That's why he's better now than he was in 2010. The flip side is that the Packers team became worse, but you couldn't tell because Rodgers' elevated the teams play. He did what Peyton and Brady do for years. So while he isn't Peyton or Brady or Brees, he joined that group for the time being.
I watched the Packers plenty last year and they had these same exact problems and the best time to see it was when Rodgers went down. Without him they couldn't even beat the Giants, Vikings, and Lions. If Rodgers were to get injured next week the team would look exactly how the Colts did at the end when Manning went down. 2-14 or 3-13. With him they are anywhere from a 7-9 - 10-6 squad depending on who they have to play. The Jets are a shitty matchup for the Packers. Our Top 3 D-Line for their Bottom 3 O-Line. Their weak Back 7 on defense vs. our Top 6 running game. Now Lacy is out too. The I remember in the 49er's vs. Packers playoff game last year he didn't look very good as well. Honestly though I put zero blame on Rodgers at all. With him the current Packer team wins 8 or 9 games. Without him they win 3 or 4. The team around him is awful. - WR's - Nelson is really good. Jones was their #2 and left for Oakland. Boykin and Cobb are just run of the mill receivers that you find on every team. - TE's - Quarless is a 300 yd per season TE with Rodgers throwing to him. I would rather have Amaro right now before he has ever played a game. - OL - Gave up 45 sacks last year and looks even worse this year. If you give up 3 sacks per game, that's pretty much 3 blown up drives per game. Hard to win that way. - Lacy is a solid but looks much better since the Defense wen facing the Packers is often in Nickle and Dime sets which gives him more running room. After that they have a whole bunch of nothing. And that's not to mention their terrible defense. It's going to be a long season for the cheeseheads.
I thought Wayne had like 1 completion for 6 yards or something in that game? I remember him talking shit after the game lol
Lacy isn't out @Superhippy. He passed the first tests, so he'll probably play. Also, you aren't giving Rodgers enough credit. With him the Packers are at worst a 9 win team. With him they have the chance to win 12 games, even with an opening week loss.
1 completion for 1 yard. And that is Revis following the number 1 receiver the whole game. Unlike the packers who could put their #1 away from Sherman. Why wouldn't you gameplan around that???
I wasn't arguing, just responding to whoever said Peyton didn't throw at Wayne, he did, at least once, it just wasn't successful.
Not arguing bro. I'm just correcting you. And it was me you were responding to...The packers comment was just something I was throwing out to some of the other posters.
I don't think Cobb is just a run of the mill receiver. He's explosive, shifty and one of the best slot receivers in the game today. The wide receivers of Green Bay will be a huge issue for our cornerbacks, with Kyle Wilson likely to be exposed in a major way. Agree with your other points though, especially our d-line against their o-line.
Nah even easier because that game we had to deal with Brees, this game we only have to deal with Rodgers.
