Front 7 needs pass rushers badly. The run defense has been a lot better the last two weeks. They need someone in the front 7 who can beat someone one on one. Someone who might actually demand a double team. Since we can't fix this during the season then we might as well go with Kellen since he gives us the best chance to score 25+ which we will have to do.

Here's something to consider: Belichick and the Patriots didn't run a 3-4 defense until they picked up Ted Washington. Until they had the personnel to run the 3-4, they didn't.

I would say our biggest problem is the defense. Particularly the pass rush. However I think we just don't have the personnel that we need to have a good defense. If Mangini really wants the 3-4 to work we have to get new players in here especially at NT and probably middle linebacker. I think to stay competetive this year the defense has to go back to what it was doing last year. Being aggressive, creating turnovers, confusing Qb's with complicated blitzes and start sending Rhodes after the QB again. The one play they sent him this week it worked. If they do that they will still give up yardage but a few big sacks or a tunover here and there will keep teams from putting up huge points and keep us in the game.

The QB situation is second but since I liked what we saw from Clemens and the fact that the staff raves about his smarts I think it's time to make a move. We are not winning a Super Bowl this year and if we wait much longer this season can be lost very quickly. Next week the Giants will put up some points on us and we need to take advantage of a weak pass rush and secondary they have. Chad won't be able to do it. I honestly believe our O-line is good enough and if we can develop a down field passing game it will open up things for the run. We should have a great offense. Our receivers are very good, our running back is very good, our TE is solid and our o-line is young but good. I think all the unit needs is a spark to get back to playing with some passion and that will make all the difference. That spark may be Clemens.

EXACTLEY. I would think to run a successfull 3-4 to start off with you would need the linch pin in at NT.

D-Line... we just don't have the personnel to run the schemes effectively... it's like they gave up... and this week was against a bad team

We are getting dominated in the trenches. It's that simple. We are getting no surge from the O line on running plays and our D line is getting dominated at the the point of attack. Until we fix those problems everything else is secondary.
Now as a footnote, did anybody see the Oakland/Miami game that was put on after the Jets game? Third and long, 20 yard line, Culpeper to Porter, stutter step in, break outside, LAZER, IN Stride, for a TD. This is the difference between Joe Montana and Chad. When Montanna (whom Chad is mostly compared with) threw a pass, he hit the WR's IN STRIDE. How many yard of YAC did Jerry Rice have back then? How may do our receivers have now? This is why I am starting to feel that Chad shouldn't be our starting QB. Time to rebuild. :drunk:

    Offensive Line...Offensive Line...Oh what I wouldn't give for an Offensive Line...a LG...a RT...but we just gave our mediocre RG a raise...yippee...

You aren't making any sense, why change the scheme again if you are just going to replace things anyway, make things simple, just change defensive line and see where it takes us as well as try to find a pass rusher. Thomas sucks.

Afterwards is the right side of the oline, it stinks and we can't run on a half decent defense

Here's the problem with that. We don't have a dline to run an effective 4-3. We would stink either way
