    Oh cool. You have spoken!!!

Second or third time in like ten posts you’ve said toxic fanbase. First time you’ve used it in this thread because I said he’s a really good player, just not elite.

So you think I'm a toxic fan because I said Quinnen is good but not as good as you'd hope a 3rd overall pick would be?

    lol

Q's a really good player. He's very consistent and delivers real production and pressure consistently, even if his overall numbers aren't exceptional due to his limited reps. But he doesn't wreck games as some have noted either. He's Mr Consistent. I'm good with that. Get the right guys around him.

What is a “3rd overall pick” suppose to look like?

You mean the one that has a top sack rate amongst his position? The one that’s 2nd at his position in sacks? Great pressure rate? Stops the run at a high level?

oh that’s Quinnen Williams. Likely may get a contract extension making him one of the highest paid DT’s in the league soon. It’s wild he gets dinged for having subpar talent around him, that’s not fair to Q.

Games like today are why you can take your advanced “analytics” and stuff them. Quinnen Williams has been a ghost out there along with the entire defensive line. Been getting turned by Kelce & friends all game long.

I love the kid. He’s a good guy and a very solid player. But he disappears.

He does that every time he faces a stud oline. See Indy.

A quality 3T probably needs more support than any other position on the defense.

He needs a good NT or the offense will just run that way and minimize his value as a run defender.

He needs a good strongside end next to him or he'll get doubled on all the rushes and most of the runs coming his way.

He needs a really good edge on the weakside so the QB is not just sliding that way in the pocket and making him take extra steps in pursuit.

There's nothing wrong with Q that better personnel around him would not fix. Yeah, he can make everybody better but they need to be good enough for that to matter in the first place.

He's pretty good already but he won't take the next step on his own. That will happened when there are other people on the front that teams have to account for. The more of those the Jets get the better the chance that Q turns into a great player.

Hutchinson/Thibodeux and Lawson on the edges will unleash him.

God, I hope the Lions take a QB. That will dramatically increase the chances of the Jets getting Thibodeaux or Hutchinson.

This might be a draft where no QB is taken until the teens, maybe later. But, the Jets look like they'll bad enough to land one of them.

Seriously, other than Lawrence no QB should have been taken in this draft until the teens. The NFL has had QB fever since the draft that Winston and Mariota went 1-2 in. Lots of bad teams making bad choices and setting themselves up to make bad choices a few years down the road.

Looks like it. Right now, we have no choice but to hope Wilson makes enough progress over the next 5 weeks. There is no Kyler Murray in the 2022 draft, so he's likely the starter next year too.

How does Aaron Donald excel so much when he hasn’t always had an elite player next to him?

Chris Jones has also never had an elite edge next to him and he pushes two offensive lineman around at a time.

I don't think Q is in the Aaron Donald/Warren Sapp category. I think he is a step down from that. Very good but not an all-time talent the way those guys are/were.

Yep, elite players can beat double teams from time to time. Just because he gets more double teams shouldn’t be a reason he gets a hard pass on being a non factor. JJ Watt was another player who was always double teamed but made an impact. Q can’t just keep disappearing every time he sees a double team or faces a good OLine.

Hes touted as top 5 at his position so a lot of folks have high expectations for him. He didn’t even manage a single Qb hit today.
