No one wants to see anyone get Chrebet-ed, but Coles on the opposite side of Edwards? He's no where near as fast as he used to be, can he get separation from opposing CBs? I wouldn't mind seeing Cotch and Coles interchange during the game between the split end (I believe it is called the opposite side of the #1 WR) and the slot on certain situations, Cotchery's ability to catch passes toward the sideline and simple routes makes him very valuable in the "Split End" position

If the front 7 is getting pressure early and often then it could make up for a horrible secondary because the QB won't have time to throw the damn ball, but with our offensive line we won't neutralize their 7 but we can sure as hell slow them down giving Sanchez some time to throw, in this situation the front 7 won't be as effective

What is with this forum's obsession with Drew Coleman? His name gets brought up in a zillion threads.

Because he's absolutely horrible, even though he's a 5th CB on the team, and check the AFCCG on why we make fun of Coleman

That's what I meant when I said having Cotch in the slot and Coles (facing #2 CB) opposite Edwards. Edwards would be lining up as the #1 WR. Coles runs good routes and can still get decent separation. I would just hate to see him going across the middle every time, so I agree that we will probably see Coles and Cotch being interchangeable until Week 5.

Coles faced the Ravens twice last season - so he should help out in the film room.

He was injured in their first matchup, but he returned as a slot receivers in the second division game and caught 6 passes for 72 yards against Baltimore.

Really shitty break for the Ravens... they are having a rough couple weeks. They better hope that front 7 is completely dominant this year and that Flacco takes a big step forward or they can kiss the Lombardi trophy goodbye. Ozzie needs to make a big move now, because no way that secondary doesn't get exposed by any QB able to make quick reads.

I feel for Foxworth, he seems like a good dude. Here's his twitter post from earlier,

"There's nothing worse than letting down ppl you love and I love all the ravens players and fans. I'm very sorry "

I'm actually kind of curious what kind of compensation we could get from a desperate Ravens for Dwight Lowery. Lowery put up pretty good stats last year, and he would be probably be an opening day starter for the Ravens. That being said, I like the insurance of having him in the secondary... he's definitely a high quality backup in a section of our team where we want good depth.

Far be it from me to criticize Ozzie Newsome, but I think that organization is going to be pretty sore if Kyle Wilson or Devin McCourty turn out to be the real deal.

I know the Broncos broke the bank to get Tebow, but it seems to me the Ravens needed a true corner and didn't get one.

    Tough break for foxworth.

I've always liked him as a CB.

The Ravens are the walking wounded this preseason.

Man, this game is still about 6 weeks away. We should wait for Ngata to get eaten by a Shark or something and then we're laughing.

I think that's been the plan all along. On 3rd downs Cotchery moves into the slot while Holmes/Coles plays on the outside.

This sucks. I was really hoping to play a Ravens team that was at 100% to see what Sanchez can do against that defense.

So, I guess these injuries will be fat-cessa's excuse if the Jets beat baltimore in week 1: He'll probably say something along the lines of, "The kid, Sanchez, is just not a good qb. He's always out partying. He just beat up on a depleted baltimore secondary. Now the giants, on the other hand, they managed to overcome a dominant panthers team and get the victory in week 1. I mean Matt Moore is clearly the real deal at QB".

wait a second, wait a second, wait a second

It could be something like that, especially if the Jets win by a low score like 17-13 or so.
"Wait a second, wait a second. Baltimore has injuries all over their secondary. The Jets still couldn't score many points. Wait till they play a good team."
