lol, the running game had been working fine before yesterday out of all the sets they ran yesterday. GB played well on defense and shut down the run game. It happens every now and then, the running game will be fine moving forward.
???? Again? What is it you think Alex Gibbs and Shanadouche teach? Just because the jumbo guys aren't running doesn't make it a whole lot different. Get down on the ground...make a mess.
youre including 20 yards by sanchez and weatherford ... the running game did not go over 100 the running game struggled against denver, too
True but it will get going again. The Jets made it to the AFC championship game pounding teams that stacked the box. I'm not going to be overly concerned that opposing D's have made some adjustments to stop the run. Now it's time for the Jets to make some adjustments and get the ball rolling again.
Actually if you're playing Hunter, Turner, Keller, Richardson and Greene the defense can commit 10 to the line of scrimmage, the only guy you need to worry about covering downfield is Keller. Now if your argument is that the Jets should play more 2 TE, 2 RB stuff i'm open minded. But two extra tackles, one tight end, two big backs, and one receiver, that's just stupid.
So why don't they count? Sanchez had 22 rushing yards, it's okay to count Vick's but not Sanchez's? That's racist!!
No, you can't.....One gap and Greene is gone. Not to mention we do utilize 3 TE sets that includes the tackles. Wide Open Wayne Hunter runs patterns.
The most troubling part is that there was no point in the game yesterday where the Jets even tried to maul the Packers and wear them down for the 4th quarter, even though the passing game was clearly struggling a great deal. 6 carries for Greene??? That's inexcusable.
You know, you're on to something. Playing seven offensive lineman with a FB, a TE, no wideouts and a back that can't catch is a great idea in non short yardage situations. You should send your resume to Tannenbaum ASAP once you get out of high school.
thats the point of this thread, i dont think its anything new that opposing D's are doing ... its the lack of diversity in run calls
This is nothing new guys we're a finesse offense now. Vikings game: Terrible conditions rain wind hail we pass 40+ times and run maybe 25..... Denver game: A team that can't stop the run, Sanchez is clearly struggling but yet another game where Sanchez almost throws 40 and the run game is in the 25 range. Packers game: A defensive line that is thin and worn down Sanchez is struggling and again 38 pass attempts and only 21 run attempts.... Ground and Pound is dead guys sorry to say and the jets struggles offensively will continue to grow until Rex puts his foot down.
There are only so many different run's you can call. I was thinking more along the lines of making blocking adjustments. The plays themselves aren't changing anytime soon.
we have more running plays in the playbook than weve called the last few games ... weve seen them before, and theyve been successful
