Vick handled this whole situation perfectly whether you hate him as a person or not there is no denying that. I'm disappointed in our staff if this is an actual leak to the media a lot of people on this forum called this sham of a competition out for what it really was, I was not one of them.
I love how everyone automatically calls everything the media writes "bullshit" these days. There's nothing far fetched in this article,I don't get what's so hard to belive here
This is the biggest bunch of garbage I've seen this week, maybe this year. And no I don't mean the media, I mean the fact people in the organization actually think this way.
That's the cynical way of looking at it though admittedly I didn't think of that before. Still I think it was more about Vick's regard for Geno (reaching out to him while he was still in college) and the fact he's become far more of a leader since prison (how he handled the Riley Cooper thing last year was a big reason why it never became an issue).
From the article "UPDATE: After the Jets' loss to the Giants on Friday night, Vick refuted TheMMQB.com report, saying "That is not true at all. ... So whoever wrote that story, it was on the side of being very fictitious and you have to come up with better stories than that.""
The premise behind the article is pure speculation. Sorry. Even Vick denied it. NY Post and NYDN just try to stir the pot for ratings. Pretty funny how absurd this articles paint things, and even funnier that a handful of jets fans agree. LMAO.
Plain and simple... The competition was a scarecrow competition from the outset (we all agree). Even if it was an open, full competition, does anyone really feel as if Vick was FAR superior to Geno? In fact I would give Geno the nod based on his preseason performance and the end of last year.
