Linemen in a 3-4 never get the stats of 4-3 linemen. They take on a couple of linemen and create gaps for the linebackers to get the glory. Woodson, or anyone on NFL network should understand this. Both Jenkins and Wilfork are top 5 or 6 in the NFL.
I found respect!!! the fair and educated Buck Brooks gives his top 5 DTs.. Jenks is number 4. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09...last season after finishing 29th in 2007.[/B]
RW is garbage. The only analyst that says anything of substance on the NFL network is Marshall Faulk. NFLTA has gone in the shitter since Schefter left. To stay on topic.....Jamal Williams from the Chargers deserves to be mentioned as well. He's been to the Pro Bowl...and the Chargers D is formidable every year.
Yeah, I think I've heard him occasionally make good points; but unless he's talking about the 2 or 3 elite teams in the NFL, he seems to think everyone else sucks.
well...if Revis is nowhere to be found on his list on Friday......then that will reinforce my opinion of him being a fucktard.
he signed on with ESPN.....he'll be on the Sunday NFL Countdown show with Berman, Jackson, Keyshawn, Carter and THE DITKA.
That fuckin treacherous defector. I wonder if, by going to ESPN, Schefter's reports will now become completely, premature, misinformed, and inaccurate...
I doubt it...he's been a reliabe source for a number of years now......the NFL network didn't want to re-negotiate his contract....so he found the "pay window" at ESPN. Good for him....Schefter has earned his payday, IMO. But yeah.....he better steer clear of John Clayton......stupidity is contagious.
Ha exactly. I really like Schefter, and he's definitely earned his payday because he's been reliable and credible. I'm just assuming if you work for ESPN, then you sink into a heroin addiction; where the heroin addiction is terrible reporting on drama and breaking news that's often bogus. Just look at Clayton. I hope Schefter doesn't become that itchy.
I'm not a huge fan of Prisco but he also gave Jenkins some decent props and has him at number 4 as well: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/positional-rankings/DEF/DT Peace!
(This is mostly for FTP, whenever you read this) This is the difference between a relevant analysis and an irrelevant analysis (by the idiotic BleacherReport writer). Prisco posts Jenkins' numbers, but doesn't say his sack total really means anything, i.e. he's not gauging Jenkins based on # of sacks. Although it's brief, what's important is that, "He's a large man who anchors in against the run." If Jenkins were to have 0 sacks, yet, still take on blockers, help collapse the pocket, and stuff the run, he'd be doing his job and doing it very well.
if he doesn't put revis in the top 3 he's a hypocritical piece of shit because he had a segment with Ty Law on Revis and Asomougha and how they are the two top CBs in the league.
faulk is good. Dukes can be ok if he's not getting emotional about his opinion. When he's black and white about something he does a good job. Mariucci has to come back on because he was doing well. Sanders isn't bad either, but he can be better. Eisen is still the core of that whole network. He goes, it dies.
The segment with Law was them each naming their top CB I thought, with Woodson naming Asomugha and Law naming Revis. At least I thought it was, but hey I could be wrong.
Well, Law's pick for top CB was Revis, Woodson picked Nnamdi. I can't remember Woodson ever actually saying Revis' name.
Anyone care to make a prediction who Woodson's Top 5 CBs will be? 1. (obviously) Nnamdi. 2. Asante. 3. Antonio Cromartie 4. Champ Bailey 5. Al Harris/Cortland Finnegan with just missing the list: Carlos Rogers, Marcus Trufant, and anyone else not named Revis.
