Why do you people keep talking about him? Lol

Its like a girlfriend that cheated on you and all you do is keep talking about it. Just get over it and move on. Jesus. Who gives a fuck now. He's on the Patriots. Let's worry about him when we play them twice a year. Hopefully three times.

His contract was 16 million and he took a contract worth 16 million a year but in all reality is one year, 12 million right now. So technically Kraft is right, it is less than his old contract so he "took less" but let's not pretend he took less over a long term thing. It's a mercenary contract. If he signs long term with NE for around 8-9 million a year, well then I see why Kraft said what he did.

In the GaryMyers article immediately after the deal, Revis said he was contacted by 20 teams who were interested but he did not care about numbers or even discuss numbers. He said his priority was to sign with the Jets and when they indicated they had no interest he went to the Pats as he felt they could win.

Of course Kraft conveniently leaves out the fact that Revis did not commit to the Pats long term which would make his claims meaningful.

Im not really concerned about Revis though. Talibs play last season will be difficult to replicate. When Revis holds Jimmy Graham to 0 catches for 0 yards, come talk to me. (Yeah im aware they dont play the Saints)

Because Deion didn't jump from team to team for more money...

Sure they both played on 3 different teams in 3 consecutive years. The difference is Revis is primed to make it 4.

I think that last season humbled him a bit. At the time he went to TB, they seemed like they were a decent team ready to take the next step. Unfortunately the offense completely collapsed. Revis likes money but he likes to play for a winning team more. That is such a great signing for NE, if they do end up adding another decent WR, they are going to be a juggernaut this year.

I think Cleveland. But it seems like the Patriots were the only team he was seriously negotiating with and he didn't try to get other teams to outbid their offer.

It's very possible that 20 teams contacted his agent, but I just don't believe that he suddenly doesn't care about numbers. The "numbers" have been his main focus since the day he was drafted.

He called Idzik a liar when he was traded, so I think he really despises the Jets' front office for not giving in to his demands, and doesn't want them to feel happy about the trade. Perhaps he felt that winning a SB as the cornerstone of their defense would boost his chances of getting the highest payout in 2015, so that would be the only way I could imagine him being willing to take less this year.

I'm sure that Revis's agent did call the Jets, but only as a token gesture. I think he wants to get back at the Jets, and what better way than to go to their arch-rivals? What better way to get back at Idzik than to try to make it look like Idzik "forced" him to go to the Patriots?

I hate the NFL. Complete GREED LEAGUE all around. Owners and players. It`s the NBA spelled differently(NFL).

I just hope the regular schmuck fans finally realize they are throwing their money into the pockets of these scumbags and just simply stop supporting it financially like I have(I was once a schmuck fan too, and a retarded rabid one at that). It`s like a bad tv show. If you stop supporting it, it will go away. Do I want the NFL to fail? Yes. With great passion too. I know I will hear shit from you kids who haven`t learned yet but thats ok. It`s just a game in the end and YOU GET NOTHING no matter what happens or who wins. Just ask all those big mouth Seattle fans who supported their team exactly what THEY got from the recent SB win(ask any fan of any team what they get). You know what they got? A huge price increase in tickets, parking and concessions. It`s a raping of the fans who will enjoy having their asses raped. Pretty sad, no? Just think about it. They got to walk around with their noses in the air saying "haha, my team won". Now they will pay even more for next year. It just doesn`t end and the owners, the league and the players laugh in their faces. Do I enjoy watching the games on television? Yes, I still do, but if it wasn`t on, like it isn`t for most of the year anyway, I find other things to do. The NFL simply plays it`s games during a time of the year when summer has winded down and people get stupid lazy. For me, it`s the price of going to games that really pisses me off. No pro sports are cheap anymore. I`ll be fine if none of them existed to be honest. I work way too hard to throw my money away on games I get absolutely nothing in return for. And please don`t give me that "you get satisfaction" crap either. No one cares if your team wins. No one. You might as well stick whatever money you have up your own ass if it`s sdatisfaction you want. At least you can shit am few bucks out for beer when you need it and not have to pay for players/owners filet mignon dinners. :)

And you know what, I believe in karma, if you had asked Revis before the season who was going to be better, the Bucs or the Jets, he would have said the Bucs. Not only did we beat the Bucs, they ended up being as bad as everyone thought the Jets would be. So you know what? let him go to New England, he can become a ring chaser but it wont work, ill love nothing more than watching him walk off the field in some bitter defeat as his seasons ends, along with the rest of the Patriots.

I disagree. Revis could have likely gotten more than $12 million if he wanted. He chose to go to a competitive team and not negotiate or discuss salary or numbers but simply take what NE offered after the Jets refused to speak with him.

The problem with Revis and the Jets was started by the Jets in his rookie year when Tannenbaum demanded an unreasonable contract. Tannenbaum demanded a contract with an extra year more than the #13 or #15 pick or any pick taken in this range would normally get. It got Revis back up and poisoned the well. Eventually Tannenbaum caved and gave Revis a 4 year contract with a 2 year team option that most people thought would pay too much to ever be exercised. The problem was Revis outplayed his rookie deal so much that the 2 year option became a great deal for the Jets. Revis never thought of the deal as anything more than the intended 4 years and that is why he held out.

In regards to the fallout with Idzik. It's not hard to be sympathetic to Revis and too Idzik. He has always said he wanted to stay with the Jets and did not want to be traded. He said Idzik never talked to him or his agent once despite Idzik's attempt to increase Revis' trade value by pandering to the press to give the intention he would or was in negotiation with Revis. Yes Idzik was very likely dishonest but that is part of the business in bluffing other teams. Revis has a lot of pride, was obviously hurt by the trade and felt betrayed. But those kind of emotional hurts pass with time. Above all else football is a business and grudges are not held long unless ones name is Woody.

In regards to Revis coming back to the Jets it is quite possible he realized how bad it was playing for a bad team with a bad coach and how much better Rex was for him long term. He praised Rex during last season and he Rex both love each other. My guess is Revis' Pats deal is a one year deal to keep his options open so Revis can play for Rex in 2015 if Rex gets fired from the Jets.

Besides if you look at the contract average it's 16 million per year, 12 the first 20 the second.

I definitely don't root for the league to fail, and I'm surprised you watch the games if you don't care. If you don't get any satisfaction from it, don't watch. It will not go away just because you don't watch it- the league is getting more popular every year. Just like whatever music genre you don't like still exists- same thing with sports.

If you want cheap sports tickets, you can go to a minor league baseball game, a WNBA game, or a Major League Soccer game. But the more popular sports and teams cost a premium.

If sports don't matter to you, cool. But for others, it's enjoyable. Just as a movie or a book or a song can be enjoyable even though it doesn't involve us whatsoever.

May never be. Deion is arguably a top 10 all-timer. I just didn't think the changing teams argument was relative.

Deion was great in every team he played for, I think its relevant.

But Revis did and this hasn't helped his HOF'dom . If Revis wants to be great he should start thinking more about football and a little less about the mullar.
I''m a Revis 'football' fan but find his attitude distasteful.

Hey I'm not happy about the deal with the Pats and didn't like his holdouts but you would need to look really hard in this league to find a player more devoted to perfecting his game than Revis. I think you are being a little stubborn here, Revis has one of the best work ethics in the league
