Depends on a few things. We could sink lower depending on injuries. As the season goes on I believe the offense will get better, but I'm stumped on our defense. They flat out suck.
We'll see, their D might beat themselves though. When a team gives up 51 points to the Cleveland Browns they are not a sure bet to beat anyone.
I want to be scared of Cincy, but DEREK ANDERSON put up 51 on them. Their defense is really bad. Maybe we can't hang with them in a shootout, but when a team's D is that bad, they can't be granted any certain victories.
They have 423 yards rushing in two games, which as you will note is more than 2x Chris Brown's big game.
I too said 7-9 at the beginning. For now I still don't think it will be much worse then that. Maybe 6-10. Ask again after the next two weeks. If we lose either of those I will be drastically changing my prediction.
My Original Prediction was 8-8 New Prediction: Schedule W-Sep 23 Miami 1:00pm W-Sep 30 @Buffalo 1:00pm W-Oct 7 @N.Y. A lot changes once the season starts. Going in, I thought Washington and Tennessee were push-overs. Now both teams look pretty strong. But those Cincinatti and Philly games look a lot better now too.
Yeah, but if you can't find a way to break Carson Palmer's protection, it could be the apocalypse for the Jets defense.
They had 280+ against Jacksonville in the opener, which is more than a little flukey. 140 against Indy is nice, but we all know about Indy's run D. I don't argue that they are an improved rushing team, but to call them big time is a little much. And Lendale White has yet to convince me of anything.
I have NO fear of the Giants. We could also take the Skins and Philly...predicting our record is tough at this point. We have not even seen our team really play. IF we get the defense I saw in the second half of Baltimore last week, we can play with anyone, the offense will come.
Lendale is currently on pack to finish Just shy of a 1,000 yard season. As a backup to Chris Brown. This team can run the ball and do it well, I expect them to be in the mix for a playoff spot at the end of the year.
I think Alio has it just about right on - we should win the five he has as winnable but I think there is a chance of losing to Cleveland (which is sad). Of the possible wins ? I?d say our best shot is Miami, we never sweep Buffalo and have a horrible record against Washington. Agree with all of the sure loses (unless it rains for three straight days in New England from the 14th to the 16th) I say somewhere between 5 & 7 wins.
still us being the jets it would make sense for us to beat the bengals and lose to the browns. after losing the first two the way we have, Im not setting any expectations. I have a feeling itll be a weird season. aside from us having no lineman on both sides of the ball lol.
And Derek Anderson is on pace for 4000 yds and 35 TD's. Lots of crazy things happen in the first two weeks. Let me see Lendale for more than two games before I lock him in for 950 yds. And he has more carries than Brown, who went fron 175 to 35 in week 2. I'm just saying that they're in no way a certain loss for us with an established bigtime power running game.
We were playing against arguably the worst offensive team in the league and we still gave up 20 points. Well, maybe Oakland is worse..maybe..and not for long.
You implied that the big rushing start was due to Chris Brown's 175 yard game. If you remove his week 1 performance from the record book the Titans would still rank 11th in rushing after week 2. That's a bigtime rushing attack. Jacksonville, BTW, went into Atlanta and held them to the same terrible rushing performance that the Vikings had held them to the week before. Nothing at all wrong with Jacksonville's run D, just a date with Tennessee on week 1.
