FYI, Idzik publically denied that he put a leash on Rex. Rex has toned himself down because he believes it's the right thing to do when the team is struggling. Sorry to let the haters down! Rex will stay barring disaster.
I actually like Rex's new attitude. That was the only thing I disliked about the guy in the past. The stupid jokes,Dressing like his brother, his guarantee's etc etc.. When he was interviewed and he was going at it last week with the media whores. That was the Rex I like to see. A more serious Rex .
We have been blaming coordinators for every coaching flaw since Rex got here. For example lets take clock management. Rex stinks at it. It’s not a coordinators fault the HC can’t even manage the clock during a two minute drill. Maybe we should have a guy on the sidelines that runs up to Rex and yells “you should be calling a timeout dipshit”.
The team as a whole has made the wrong decisions in picking coordinators - Schottenheimer wasn't on Rex, Sparano should of came with Todd Haley to fix the offense. I am a firm believer that Marty and Rex will be a great combination as their philosophies are the same, they want big plays and they want to be aggressive. Rex has gotten much better at clock management since his rookie year as a HC, if he has not can you give examples of poor clock management the past 2 seasons?
One answer to this: 1. Shotty 2 AFCCG and 1 losing season. 2. Tony S. 6-10 and all because of he was never qualified as a legit O.C. 3 How many play makers did we ever had on offense? I am talking top 10 at QB,RB,WR? 4. Rex was only a HC for what 5 years? If he gets fired. He has a good chance at winning a SB. Why? Look at his playoff record.
True, but most Head coaches hire/promote DC's that are ready for the job too. If DT wasn't ready, he shouldn't have been promoted. If DT is learning the job under Ryan, he should have remained an asst. Mistake in judgement or Ryan needing a fall guy if his vaunted defense somehow doesn't show as big as Ryan talks. Rexaholics I'm sure will explain this clearly.
Dennis Thurman has a strong voice in the locker-room and will contribute as the DC. He may know the scheme Rex runs, but Rex still has the upper-hand and is a defensive genius - do you really consider DT to be on the same level? Rex is calling the plays on defense, he has no one else left to blame but himself if the defense falters. Rex has no more excuses defensively. Rex haters are thinking Rex can be fired and DT can come in and replicate what Rex has done. I say that's bullshit. Do you guys not see the potential with Rex coaching as the HC with Marty taking care of the offense? Marty has help build tons of top 10 offenses with other teams. All Rex needs to do is do what he does best, address the players and keep the team ready for Sunday. No longer does he have distractions (or dumbasses) in Tebow / Sparano. EDIT - The potential can be as good as Wade Phillips / Gary Kubiak coaching the Texans
This is one of the more convoluted and confusing posts I have ever read on this message board. You seem to have a collection of truisms that lack a clear, logical connection to one another.
You described a Asst, not a DC. Promoting DT because he has a strong voice in the lockerroom is all it takes to be Jets DC ? If he can't run Ryan's defense, he shouldn't be Ryan's DC. Ryan is the DC of the Jets period. He also happens to be HC. DT is an asst.with the title of DC. Regarding MM, did it ever occur to you that he might be in the running for HC should Ryan get the axe? You might want to consider that as there is a possibilty that Ryan does get fired at the end of the season. No amount of wishful thinking can change that.
You have to have a DC even if it is one in training. Rex couldn't possibly say he is the coach and the DC too, not in this fucking town anyway.
The post was to just show what Rex had to work with and how far he went by displaying our offenses past history.
Rex has turned our team into the ravens before they got flacco,Rice,Boldin etc etc.. I believe that he can keep us right there until we get those type of offensive guys.
Rex sucks. He is one of the WORST coaches the Jets have EVER had. Poor at personnel, and admitted to 'fireable' offenses, such as not knowing that one of his best players is not even in the game, and "losing the pulse" of his team. Not to mention the Sparano hire which proved to be one of the worst hires in football. Let's talk about how well he helped Mark Sanchez develop into the great NFL QB he has become. If there is a way to mess up Rex finds it.
I'm curious. How on earth are the 2013 NYJ's in any way, shape or form the SB Champion B'more Ravens?
Dennis has experience with Rex, experience in this system. Rex Ryan can run this defense to it's maximum capacity right now therefore he's calling the plays. He knows he's on the clock. Until Dennis Thurman gets everything under wraps, I'm sure he will call plays, but until then Rex will take care of the play-calling. Rex needs to secure his job with this franchise. He can't have a rookie DC call plays for the defense. Who else would be the DC of the Jets in your opinion? Jack Del Rio isn't coming through that door to help Rex. Rob was hired by the Saints. If Marty becomes HC, be prepared for dark times ahead because he's not HC material. Rex is.
Clearly you have only been a fan for about 3 years because you were not around when Kottie was around. What an awful post as a beginner.
