On paper yes, but when a team quits on a head coach things will spiral out of control. Do you think Kansas City was a 2- 14 team in 2013, and do you think the Texans were last season? I'm guessing your answer will be no.
That's a really good point, and if Rex is fired during the bye week or something you may be right. I guess we'll see.
I've been off the Rex bandwagon for awhile now, but this basically sums it up for me. There is no excuse for the way this team performed today. None. The Chargers started the game 9/10 on third down. The Jets finished the game with 60 total passing yards. We had 68 yards at the half. There are mind-boggling statistics for days . . . for days. Just awful.
Totally agree. This IS the new low point in the Rex Ryan era. Not the Buttfumble. Not 45-3. It's this game. And it happened in his SIXTH season as coach. Is there a better sign that Rex is not the long term answer here?
He's been a glorified, delusional cheerleader for 6 years. (I'll never forget him saying with a straight face, right after benching Sanchez against Arizona in the middle of the 2012 debacle, that the rest of the league should "envy" Jets because they had "three good quarterbacks" on the roster. It still blows my mind) You can get away with that shit when the team is competing, but now, the party's over.
