This, is why Rex needs to go and why that disgraceful gatorade bath they gave Ryan last season should have been laced with citrate magnesium; and then it should have been been given to the Jets organization as a whole.

The decision to send an injury prone, CONCUSED, Vick back in when your other POS QB is hurt is beyond silly. He's not Willis Reed and this wasn't the Superbowl. We didn't need this win, but Rex did and they, yes they, put Vick at risk to stick around. This sort of decision making regarding injuries/sit/start is part of the Rex Ryan experience. Look at Sanchez and the "Snoopy bowl" and the gimpy Milliner in on a fucking FG block Right along with these hits

-burning a 1st quarter timeout within the first couple of minutes because somebody doesn't know a play/out of position/whatever.

-Wasting a timeout on a too many men on the field/too few men on the field/somebody out of position AGAIN.

-12 men on the field EVERY game

-3rd and long overload blitz(WHY????? just a little zone here and get the stop)

-refuses to change a gameplan that gets us beat over the top and underneath every damn time.

-clock management to Rex means letting half the time left burn off during 2 minute drives. I mean ya can't call time outs when you don't have em, right?

-offense is clicking and we are moving the ball only to see the QB line up on the outside, or come off the field completely.

-he's a buffoon, eccentricity only works as an off shoot of success. Sammy Watkins says hello

I could go on forever with that list but I'll sum it up in the way we have drafted in his time here. I don't think we are taking the best player available at all at this point. I think the Jets are just drafting guys to fit Rex's system, and THAT IS THE PROBLEM; Rex is "coaching" for Rex. The wildcat isn't good for the Jets but he likes trick plays so we keep using it. Rex likes CB and DL so we keep drafting them to help HIS SIDE OF THE TEAM.

Ryan is not a head coach and never will be because he's too tied up in his own damn shit to do whats right for the TEAM. I get the feeling that if Rex didn't have an NFL daddy he would probably be a sad middle aged former JV player that hangs around the HS/College teams trying to relive his youth. The guy has got to go and while we are at it just about everybody else short of Karl Dubar need to be shown the door as well.

Sorry about the rambling, I seem to be prone to at least one of these a season.

If he plays Vick this week He should be fired monday after the game. This team is 1-8. They should be in evaluation mode, only. That's the place they put themselves.

It's senseless and a waste of time to roll out there with Michael Vick and Chris Johnson, etc, guys that aren't going to be here next season. At least be a professional Rex and realize the situation this team is in.

They should totally be in evaluation mode at this point. Yet, Rex is in cover his own ass mode and trying to win these meaningless games instead of looking at what's best for the long-term interest of this franchise which is evaluating the young guys on this team. In his deluded world, he still thinks he has a chance to save his job. Clueless.

With a pedestrian QB and serious help at DB, I can see this team going 10-6 to 11-5 next season no matter who the HC/GM is.

The GM job would be a lot more appealing and would probably turn up much better candidates this time around than when Idzik was the choice. The new GM would have: a good number of building blocks and talent at many positions, a ton of cap space, a high draft pick, the ability to pick his own staff, and a predecessor who the fan base strongly disliked

I feel bad for Rex,he has a GM that set him up to fail ,no QB,no secondary he is as good as gone .His legacy has been ruined ,those two AFC title games seem like a hundred years ago.I think we all wanted to see Rex holding the Lombardi Trophy the sad thing is we will never get to see this happen,John Idzik ruined the franchise and set us back to the dark ages

I think that is exactly what he is doing. He's coaching for his next job. At this point he's not coaching for the best interests of the NY Jets. He's lining up the excuses here so he has them in a job interview next fall. If Woody Johnson had any spine he wouldn't let that happen.

Calvin Pryor shouldn't be on the bench so we can lose by 2 TDs instead of 3 or 4... Calvin Pace shouldn't be on the field at this point again. Jace Amaro shouldn't be finishing a game with 0 targets because they are keeping him inside to pass block... Chris Johnson who has one foot already out the door -shouldn't be getting all the carries over a young RB like Bilal Powell. The decision to play Michael Vick shouldn't be decided definitively "if he's healthy" and he certainly shouldn't be put back in the fucking game when the team is already down 2 scores and getting valuable experience for a young QB.

This stuff is so infuriating. If they are going to lose at least do so with an eye to the future. Otherwise they are wasting time. Idzik is at fault for creating this POS roster and Rex has made it worse with terrible decision making all year.

I do happen to agree with this...it sounds too simple but it does actually address the core problem with this team...cleaning house is definately not the answer....but the irony is that it is not easy finding the right QB for the job here in NY....

What I think the Jets need to do next year is a simple plan but hard to execute. They need to bring in coach with a track record of developing QBs, Draft Mariotta and bring in a Vet to start the season.

You sign a FA corner or two and draft oline. They also need to keep Harvin.

and here's the thing. Rex is coaching for his future and that future is more important to him than the NYJ. If his future is still with the NYJ, the people above him should tell him that his job is safe and that he should go into evaluation mode. If he's going to be gone next year, then he should be fired during the bye week and an interim coach should be brought in who will go along with the evaluation of players that the GM wants. If neither of these things happen then Idzik is a fool and should be out the door as well.

Don't be sorry. This is the best evaluation of Rex Ryan I have seen so far.

If you're going to hang your hat on one story, you should make sure it contains a head with a brain inside. Any head injury Vick may have had would have been evaluated by the medical staff according to strict NFL guidelines. The medical staff, and only the medical staff, would have made the decision as to whether the player was fit to return. Sorry the truth doesn't fit your rant.

Honestly, we don't know exactly if Vick was or wasn't suffering from a concussion. But I'm willing to take the story at face value due to Rex's track record of playing guys that shouldn't be on the field. Even if you choose to discount the Vick portions of my rant. It in no way invalidates the rest of what I said. Rex Ryan has done every one the things I'm pointing out and my opinion of his demeanor is based on what he's saw fit to publicly show us over the course of the last 6 seasons.

I love rex man... but it's really time for a change.. i can't take it anymore. I'll root for him to do good if he goes else where, i think he will do good elsewhere (at least until offseasons start and bringing in talent comes in to place). I'm ready for a new culture here, somebody that can run a NORMAL franchise no more circus shit. I look at our offense and there's just no reason for the #'s we've put up faithfully over the past few years. Seems like Decker already surpassed the # of receptions anybody has had in a long time at this point in a season.. only about 25 catches away from the most in the Rex era period. Also seems like yesterday Percy had the most rcving yards in a very long time in a single game for the jets, i honestly can't remember the last 100 yrd game from our WR core was. Why have i only seen maybe less that 3 screen passes thrown to chris johnson all year? Why do people come here and get career lows? We've had like 3 different OC's now and the same results.. it's just down right pathetic. WE SABOTAGE QB's & WR's careers like no other it's a damn shame. Mark is gonna play just fine in philly over the next period of games in philly better than any stretch he ever put together here. Our offense looked like pure jack shit when he was here, Holmes and Plaxico giving little to no effort at running an NFL route, had sanchez getting destroyed at that, No WR seperation and no time to even make something out of nothing (which usually turns out to be bad idea in the NFL) every play and we scream sanchez sucks... yeah he sucked here but he's not half as bad as we made him look. I bet Geno would go cook in another system by now. We're just bad and it never looks like an organized professional team, im just over it all man. Keep our young talented players and get a new coaching staff and front office. They don't deserve to have their talent and careers wasted here. We look like fucking Oakland East.

No, Woody was about to sell PSLs and knew he needed a new face. That was it, that and the collapse. Tannenbaum offered his resignation and Woody said no.

I've run out of patience with Rex Ryan. He's not suited to be a head coach and he needs to go.
