That's what the whole "competition" is about, really. It's a relative term, like anything else. They're not competing for long-term franchise QB, just for who starts the next game. Unless you end up with an unexpected Brady Quinn/Derek Anderson type of situation, that could change things, but it isn't likely.

I'm going to really miss not having TC nearby. After 40 years of being a Jets fan, I only started going to some TC sessions about 4 years ago out at Hofstra.

It was a lot of fun, but there's no way I want to schlepp up to Upstate NY this summer.

I don't know. Clemens is a free agent after the season. He obviously hasn't shown the staff much, but he has some ability. The new coach wanted to bring in a new guy. So did the owner probably. If Clemens plays well, then he's a free agent, and the Jets could franchise and trade him for something.

Sanchez started 16 games in college. He might not be ready. He'll probably win the job, but there's a chance that the game might be too fast for him at this stage, and Clemens gives us a better chance to win now.

I want the best quarterback now to start. If it's Sanchez, it's Sanchez. If it's Clemens, it's Clemens. There are pros to each side, and it's not a bad thing if Sanchez waits in the wings and sits and watches the game for a little bit. Carson Palmer did it, and it did well for him.

Exactly my thoughts. I haven't been overly impressed with Clemens to date but this is certainly his best chance, even though the team has long-term plans for Sanchez. If he can get on the field with a good team around him, 4th year in the offense, this is his best chance. If not now with this set-up, when?

They didn't draft Sanchez to sit. The Kc era will be over at some point this season. It is a shame he never really got a chance. Only Injury to Sanchez this year can prevent this course of events.

Not long term, but Clemens has a chance to get on the field and do something this year, even if it's only for a few games, to help his own career along and get a shot with another team. If he does well it might be hard to take him out, you never know. Easy to say now that Sanchez will play, but if we're sitting there at 4-1 with Clemens (a big if), you think they're going to pull him? I don't.

This works fine for me. Picking up a solid second round pick for the guy would be great. If he goes the whole season and we make the playoffs then what would he be worth? Cassel-type compensation?

I just dont see how they exspect to play sanchez in his rookie year right off the bat. Clemens would have to be doing TERRIBLE. I just dont see him doing that.

Clems for the first couple of games and if that goes south then we will see sanchez.

If not then sancez next year.
