Runyan is 32 years old with plenty of tread on his tires. Not crazy about signing a 32 year old RT

This one Eagles message board started a Runyan tribute thread, I guess they think this report is BS and that he's not coming back.

I don't believe Runyan ever wanted to come here. He was using us to up the price with the Eagles.

I didn't like the deal anyway. It was termed as a lucrative offer, and meanwhile the guy would only have a couple of years in him.

There's nothing on ESPN yet. I'm not saying it isn't true, but they still have yet to remove the rumor that the Jets are still in the market for him. Who knows?

I'd have liked to pick up Runyan, but I never got the sense that he was fired up to come to the Jets. Anyway, one way to look at this is to say that the Jets' eye for talent is good if the Eagles decided to resign him. They are typically adverse to re-upping older players, so he must have a good amount left in the tank and the Jets spotted it.

Eagles Agree to Terms With Runyan

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced that they have agreed to terms with T Jon Runyan on a three-year contract. Runyan originally signed with the Eagles in 2000 and went on to earn Pro Bowl honors following the 2002 season.

Runyan, 32, originally entered the NFL as a fourth round draft choice of the Houston Oilers in 1996, the 109th overall selection. After spending his rookie season as a reserve, went on to start the next 48 regular season and six postseason games for the Oilers/Titans organization. A model of durability, Runyan has started all 96 regular season games in Philadelphia since 2000.

What about drafting Ryna O'Callaghan from Cal in the 3rd. He looks like an absolute beast and may be a good fit at RT
