Except this time he has very limited cap space and draft resources and two gaping holes at tackle as well as a left guard coming off back to back season ending injuries. Stay tuned!
There are more than a few ways to make cap. Not worried about that. We’ve got a ton of guys overpaid and due to be let go or restructured
It wouldn't surprise me at all as they all just say "But Woody, we got Aaron like you wanted it isn't our fault he barely played, give us another chance next year with Aaron and we swear things will be different"
I wonder what the sales pitch is gonna be to get the rubes back into MetLife for a second helping of the Rodgers show. They already raised ticket prices although the product on the field is obviously worse than previous years.
I think we all knew this was the case regardless. But sometimes, you ignore regardless. There are a lot of glaring red flags that are not related to injuries or poor players. There are plenty of teams who have injuries, there are plenty of teams who do not have a good quarterback, there are plenty of teams that are in just as bad or worse shaped than the Jets and they play hard, overcome bad stuff, and somehow come together. The Jets never, and I mean never, do. And we're going to end up with another year of this regime pasting things together with duct tape and hoping that Aaron Rodgers can make the difference.
The worst part is Rodgers will make a difference, probably enough to fool Woody into thinking there aren't issues with Hackett/Saleh/JD. We could very well be in for a couple more years of them even after Rodgers is gone.
In a normal world, I would agree completely. This is the Jets. I have full confidence that SOJ will rear its head, everything will fall apart next year, the Jets will start over, and the next regime will be just as crappy.
Combining a 41yo Rodgers with a 31yo Davante Adams and the surface level only logic that doing such will surely translate into a re-run of 2020/21 production here in NY.
we have to basically shed talent on defense to make room for the offense on the cap. which is fine. can't have it all.
There's at least a pretty good chance our offense will struggle with Aaron, for the same reasons. If Brown, Becton, AVT, Max Mitchell, Tippman & company continues to be injured, and JoeD fails to acquire A REAL WR2, then Rodgers is going to be fighting an uphill battle, if he's not reinjured. But if the losing continues with AR? Wow...that kinda says the whole AR mission was a complete failure of epic proportions, on top of the epic ZW failure. Woody will take the blame for pushing ZW/AR onto his team, or he'll save face and clean house. Start over. I don't want to think about it! On a separate note, I see a lot of pop-up adds of late. I get the need (revenue). Here's my question: Does the site get any revenue just with the pop-up, or do we actually need to click on it and buy something? I want to help out if I can....
It’s almost like we need to hire a consultant that has experience running a professional football team to make recommendations.
It'll be interesting to see where Woody stands on this after this current regime bottoms out and finishes 4-13, because that's exactly what's coming down the pike here.
