Mindless cheering helps because they are the HOME team, we should support them blindly to be the 12th man. Lets just add to the kids horrible day by showing him he's not welcome here unless he's perfect. The game was no where near being over and it started. I know he had a bad game, he certainly knew too. What do you think booing the Kid does? He's probably thinking, "fuck these fans, they're either with me or against me" I'm with him!! So I will blindly and mindlessly cheer him and the Jets until the season is over. You are either a fanatic about your team, or a naysayer. Sad to say that most are naysayers.
The day after a loss on this board, you could make a poll asking if we should castrate the HC and it would get 94 Yes votes. Doesn't mean you're any less of a turd.
I think saying "day after a loss" minimizes what is going on, ftr. Try day after losing to what most of us here at least used to think to two weaker division opponents in a row, now three losses in a row, with the team playing in virtually incoherent fashion and imo the single worst performance by an NFL Qb at least I can remember.
Same old Jets..... No Troy Aikman won one game his first year, calm the hell down. But we do need more help on our OL/DL badly.
I'll take this Game 6 from yesterday over last year's Game 16 every season. And a rookie QB's going to lose a couple of more too before he wins another big one - get over it. It's only October - this kid has no idea what cold feels like. In the first half of his first season, Rex Ryan is one win shy of matching Kotite's win total over two seasons. The latter Walton years, Coslet, Carroll, Kotite...THOSE are the SOJ. We haven't been SOJ in a dozen years. Yesterday's loss and last week's may feel SOJ, but in reality it's not even close. Even the worst losses in the Parcells years, Groh, Herm, Mangini, I never felt as low as I did in the late 80's/most of the 90's. And there were plenty of SOJ-caliber performances during those years. But if you think these are the SOJ, then you've only been following the Jets for the past 12 years. If you're old enough to remember what SOJ really felt like, you're numb and don't take yesterday's loss past Monday morning.
Ryan Leaf had a game in 98 where he was 1 for 15 for a total of 4 yards. He had 2 picks that game. I remember watching one of those NFL films things and a few QB's had some 8 and 7 INT games. So this is far from the worst. At least he's only 22, he's got like 20 years to make you all proud someday and truly have the worst performance ever.
