I'll take that as a yes, then. Obviously, I can understand people saying "He hasn't proved anything". I would agree. However, the people who are automatically assuming he'll fail make no sense to me. Could you possibly explain why you feel that he's destined to be a bust?

Here are a few thoughts, in no particular order:

What's the big deal? The dude is posing for some shots. He's a young handsome (no homo) QB who Rex Ryan just bet his entire career on. Hell, I'd be popping the champagne in the club every night, and banging models until I couldn't walk if it were me.

He's a marketing tool. Like any high-profile player on a pro-sports team. Yes, I mock Brady, Peyton, or whoever is doing a photo shoot, or tv ad. Do you think no one in New England is saying "That fahkin' Mahk Sanchez is a fahkin' pussy. He ain't no Tahm fahkin' Brady!"

Plain and simple, 3 years from now, I want Sanchez posing for magazine shoots and making tv ads for Calvin Klein. You know why? Because that will mean he's still relevant. How would he remain relevant? By being successful.

I don't give a damn what he poses for as long as he wins games.

Can you substantiate this claim that he was forced to do this, that Woody made him do it? News to me! Though I guess that's not surprising, since after all I am "absolutely foolish" and "don't know the first thing about him."

Don't the fact that he's already there, before he won his first game -- before he played his first down -- pretty much disprove your point?

Seriously, it's one thing for Clemens (who might end up being our starter, who knows) to have to put up with the Favre sh%t. But at least that was Brett Freakin' Favre, you can understand it if your the other QB. But this???

I doubt it. They have a life to live & their own responsibilities to worry about.

Although, Tom Brady did say on 60 Minutes that he would only do commercials that included the other players on his team. (so that they could all share in the profits)

Trust me, he's going to get clowned. I'm not saying there's genuine animosity. In fact, it's good team building to clown the rookies, and this is prime material.

Lol, they airbrushed his moles away. I guess moles aren't the GQ MO.

The difference is Mark Sanchez is with a hot girl on the beach, basically taking a picture of one of his weekends. Tom Brady on the other hand gave a shout out to Brokeback Mountain with his cowboy hat tipping, finger to the chin, homo poses.

Yeah, anyone who does not agree with you guys is not a Jet fan. I've only been going for 29 years and have never seen jet fans fall over themselves so much over a rookie in my life. Posing in GQ is gay, end of story. Would or Favre or Manning do it??? He's all about the $$$.

I can't substantiate the claim that Woody made him do it, but I can tell you that it's completely out of character for him to seek this out. I can also tell you that he's not the glory hound you make him out to be. His primary focus is on the field, unlike your boy Favre who these days only wants to see how many Sportscenter mentions he can get.

As far as how I know what he's like personally? I don't know him hardly at all. However, a woman who is like an aunt to me has been one of his biggest mentors for the past 15 years. She talks to him frequently and could tell you more about who he is than any reporter, coach of the Jets, or poster on this board certainly could. He's a great kid, he works hard, and he loves playing football. That's what he's all about.

Yeah, it's way classier to do commercials for jeans and cookies. No money involved there.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I just assumed I had missed the thread where you came out of the poster closet and told everyone you were Raiderjoe. It's an honest mistake. You guys have been saying the same stuff about the Jets for quite some time now.

Manning & Brady have been on the cover & in GQ a million times. That is what sells the mag, there is nothing gay about it.

GQ likes to sport NFL players. This is awesome for Mark.
