I just thought I'd mention that it's awesome viewing tgg at work today with thread titles such as "Dirty Dirty Sanchez", "Fuck The Rain" and "Would you Shit on it" as the top threads in 3 forums.

Take nothing as a yes from me until I say so, otherwise you're putting words into peoples' mouths and that's not only unfair, it's intellectually dishonest. I only agree with 314 on what he calls "the hype," and which I would probably refer to as "distraction." I don't mind hype as much as I mind a distraction. I could care less what he does with his off time as long as it doesn't affect the football team in an adverse way, such as him becoming uncomfortable with getting a razzing, for instance. I'm not big on individual players doing things that might be a distraction from preparing for the season, that's all. Relax, this is only a discussion we're having.

Where do you come off assuming I "feel" this way? Just because I agree with part of 314's post? At no time have I ever posted that I thought Sanchez would be a bust. Never, not once. So please stop reading so intently between other posters' lines and start reading what they actually say instead. If you have an issue with what I say, bring it on. But this is the last time I'll address something which you've inferred from my posts.

Again, relax. No one here is insisiting that you watch while your mother is having anal intercourse with another poster. This is merely a discussion and rendering of opinions. Take a break already with the caustic attacks and ripping people for something you "think" they're saying.

His coach publicly said he thought Sanchez should play a third year before going pro. Sanchez did it anyway. This is the context of my comment. His coach was Pete Carroll (remember him?) so he knows something about being ready for the NFL.

It's nice that you value education & degrees & all, but I thought we were talking about football. Don't know what his degree is in, but unless it was meteorology or physics, I doubt it will do him much good in the Meadowlands.

You need to get off this defensive jag that everyone is attacking him. I'm not. I'm just saying that this GQ thing is just another thing that has me worried he doesn't know what he's getting into, coming to play in the NFL, for the Jets.

^ ^ I gave you a chance to clarify before. You opted not to, hence I took your statement that you agreed with sec314's post to mean that you agreed with sec314's post. How silly of me.

Next time, try responding to my query with something other than a dismissive response and I'll do the same. Could have saved yourself the trouble of the above post.

Remember him? I live in the LA market. I hear news of him, and interviews with him, weekly. He didn't want Mark to leave because it threw off his plan for the upcoming season. He's entering into his most challenging season yet as a USC head coach. The cupboard isn't bare, but it's emptier than he's seen it in years. He was relying on having Sanchez at QB, and the decision both surprised and upset him for that reason.

I didn't say everyone is attacking him. Only a couple of posters are, and for silly reasons. You made ridiculous claims, likening him to some kind of media whore. He's seeking out attention and going out of his way to get the high profile he craves? Gee, why would I have thought you were attacking him?

You also implied he's not really an NFL player and that Kellen should be insulted by the attention because, after all, he's not "Brett-freaking-Favre". Thank God he's not Brett Favre. That's a true media whore right there. How many times can I get ESPN to say my name today, even without my name on a roster? Feel free to jump in and defend Favre, btw. I at least fess up when I choose to attack someone.

Stupid statements like this only require dismissive responses. What else do you expect when you conduct yourself in this manner? You really need to get used to dismissive answers it if you're going to make this big an ass of yourself.

I give up. I'm just gonna quote carroll directly, and if you want to say that this is all BS, then I guess there's no way to disprove you:

I expect pretty much what I get every time. I didn't initially criticize you for responding dismissively, I simply responded in kind. Then you flew off the handle over the method, rather than the content. That merited my ensuing response. I'm really not sure what your complaint is over this. I'm not the one who introduced posting methodology into the discussion.

If you'd like to continue with the namecalling, btw, I'd be happy to continue in the TT forum

Again, he was roundly criticized by the press and by Mark's family for those comments. Mark's family only cared about him getting his degree. Carroll later made amends and admitted that his frustration had its primary basis in his concern for his own team, not Mark's future.

No thanks. Those kinds of forums are designed for people like you with that kind of time on their hands and anger management issues to deal with. Go ahead over there if you'd like and start without me.

It's no fun if it's one sided. It is rather sad, however, that you feel that messageboard behavior must be indicative of real life. I have yet to become truly angry over something said over the internet. If someone were able to actually cause me true anger, I'd probably send them a congratulatory fruit basket. Again, if you have a taste for citrus, feel free to change your mind and join us. The more the merrier.

I certainly hope you don't fall into this category, but I've always considered such boards a haven for people with low self-esteem and self-loathing issues. The fact that you frequent the board tells me one of two things, you either fall into this category or things in Spivey, Kansas are far too boring.

While I realize sitting on the front porch in Spivey in your overalls and watching the corn grow isn't exactly mind-stimulating, the alternative is much worse. Frequenting boards of insult and degradation for days on end are often signs of self hate. "I can insult people and degrade and impugn them. This will, in turn, cause them to do the same, which I so justly deserve because of such and such.

Seriously, the mere fact that you want me to come over to such a place tells me you need a good verbal spanking on a daily basis. I'm not your guy, so go find someone else for that job. I'm sure there are plenty of other misfits over there who require the same sort of self-degradation. Again, not singling you out as requiring same, just saying that I'm not into that.

Try to "Have A Good One," won't you?

I'd love to go into the reasons why I love my life, but I'm sure you'll agree it's really not worth it right here.

Having said that, please do not take offense to the fact that the first part of this is going into my signature. It's really nothing personal, and you have a good day as well.

Oh, and things are NEVER boring when you're in Spivey. I can tell you that, and I'm sure several posters would agree without ever having gone there.

Of course he did. That was the diplomatic thing to do. But thta proves nothing.

Again, I'm trying to get at what's really true. What his coach really thinks. Not what he finally arrived at after being criticized for what he first said. The fact that he said this first -- even though it was clearly an undiplomatic thing to say, and he could only get in trouble for it -- tells me this is closer to his true opinion than the later "diplomatic speak" the fact that he used such a specific number, the 62%, shows that he must have really thought about it & it was a considered evaluation, not just blurted out.

Cool. Love your life, man. You don't need to frequent forums based on self negativity.
