Actually Henne was asked to do just a bit more when the team was going good. At the end of the season they asked him to do a lot and things collapsed, although not necessarily due to his performance, this is exactly what happened at Michigan, BTW. The difference in the Jets and Dolphins seasons last year was the hot start with Sanchez getting the Jets off to a cushion they could barely survive with help, and the collapse by the Dolphins at the end of the season when nothing Henne did could prevent the losses. Henne's team had their fate firmly in their grasp and it slipped away despite his performance being more than adequate in two of the three games. Michigan redux. To the point of him being asked to do more, really he wasn't for most of the season. The Dolphins relied on their running game and the wildcat and the controlled short passing game except at the very end of the season. They reduced the risk for Henne at every possible turn (a wise move that the Jets failed to do until well after mid-season with Sanchez) and prevented him from becoming the focal point of the offense and a potential weakness. This worked right up until the end when they shifted gears and it all fell apart.
thank you! henne did not do much better than sanchez last year, i dont see most people take that as fact they both have a lot to prove but, for the future, im rolling with sanchez cause he wears green
