you don't draft a career backup qb in the second round. Clemens is our future so just stop this already

I haven't ssen enough of Brad Smith behind center to declare him better than Clemens. And I don't remember Clemens looking "very short" at TC, Winston. He was a bit taller than Brooksie but perhaps not as tall as Pennington, but I don't think that inch or so means anything.

If you could have seen Clemens passing the ball in Camp, you'd have seen that the kid "plays bigger" than he is. He also plays much better than you'd have expected too. In fact, while in the stands with ThunderbirdJet, Clemens was in there with the first team, tossing the ball about, and the guy next to us said the same thing I was thinking... "Holy shit... is that Clemens? He looks like a freakin' pro!" The kid really has pocket presence, command presence and lightening-quick decision-making abilities.

Seriously, before anyone thinks Brad Smith is better than Clemens, you've got to see them both on the field. I don't think there's any comparison, but again... haven't really seen enough of Brad Smith under center yet for any meaningful snaps. But if you put a gun to my head right now and I had to decide, it would be Clemens hands down.

You will not find a scout, coach, or analyst that thinks Brad Smith can be a QB in this league...no chance.

I'm HUGE on Brad Smith, but I see him only as a multi-talented, general utility guy with a lot of talent and obviously a great find at #4. And I shouldn't say "only" because, come on... this guy is a terrific addition to the team. We need to utilize him more, in fact.

But our franchise quarterback of the future? Uh-uh.

That's pretty much hitting the nail on the head.

    How can you be sure?

Then they must be lying about drew brees too who's listed at 6'1. He must be 5'8, and if i'm not mistaken he's pretty good.

I wouldn't mind brady Quin, but we won't get him at the 15th pick. let's hope Clemens is the future.

    It ain't easy being green.

A run stuffing NT would be nice next April.

Schaub would be too expensive anyway, I don't think we could keep Clemens, Penny and get Schaub, id rather have the experience and the rook

There is no way to know what Schaub really is. At this point he is not a proven NFL QB, so if he is a restricted free agent it would be crazy to give up multiple draft picks to get him.

    Clemens
    Pennington
    Brad Smith/Free Agent/'07 draft pick

Yup Matt Schaub is definelty the answer :rofl2: out of his 3 year career he has only started 2 games and has a whopping 48.9 comp %. He is definelty the answer. He has thrown 5 TDs and 4INTs and his QB rating is 68.3, He is a great QB. He is nothing but a mediocre back-up QB

We dont need Matt Schaub...all our free agent money should go towards bringing in Michael "the burner" Turner. The guys, in my book, is one of the top 5-10 backs in the league.

You are all wrong. Mangini will push hard and sell the farm to pry Vinny away from his former master.

Testaverde actually played last week. (Three kneel downs). It's official. He's played 20 years in the league.
