If Rex and Mark stays, not optimistic
If Rex goes and mark leaves , feeling good
Rex stays, mark leaves meh on the fence.

    Prefer a new regime though

I am optimistic the team will be better than they were this year. Does that result in a playoff birth? Who knows.

How do you think we will solve our o-line problem, WR problem, QB problem, DB problem, and pass-rusher problem all in one off-season?

I didn't vote because I think there need to be more answers to choose from.

I'm optimistic that the talent level will be a lot better. Gone will be Sanchez, Tone and some other dead wood. At least 3-4 FAs will be signed who won't be bottom dollar type players with little risk and a high upside if everything works out just right. I think they will all be solid depth or starters and all will stick. Unless he trades up, I think there's a chance at least 7-8 of the draft picks stick, possibly more. I'm optimistic that there probably won't be any "projects" selected. I'm optimistic that Geno will be a much different, better player next year. I'm optimistic that Idzik will want to fire Rex.

I'm not optimistic that Woody will allow Rex to actually get fired. Because of that, I'm not very optimistic that even with much better talent and continuity that things will be much better in terms of the team's play or the W-L record. Because Rex is still here and his predilection for going conservative and running the ball, I'm not optimistic that the Jets will be able to sign the FA QB they want.

+1. My thoughts exactly. You get rid of Rex and the defense plummets next year making the team worse off.

For sure? What if they hire a great offensive minded head coach who knows how to get points out of his team and a solid DC? I'm sure there are other DC's in the NFL that can put something together with all the 1st rounders we have on that side of the ball.

I think a home-run draft and some solid, starting-caliber talent in free agency could turn this team around quickly, but it really would require an awful lot to fall our way.

The worry I have is it looks like the offensive line might be falling apart, If Mangold and Brick don't bounce back then that's a major area of need as well, along with the secondary, receivers and, more than likely (still) QB.

My hopes for next year are that we can identify a quarterback who this team can build around for a decade. My feeling is it will be a first-round draft pick, but maybe Geno will do enough in these last few games to give us hope. If he doesn't improve I don't see how the team can pass on a first-round QB next April (depending on where we end up picking, of course).

I have little to no optimism for next year, but I'll be here, just like always, hoping they can gel. The thing is, teams sometimes just come together. Adding the right player can galvanise an entire franchise and lift others.

By 2015 I would hope to have a QB in place and to have some weapons around him.

I have to admire your blind optimism. I fixed your prediction for you.

This is where your wrong. If it wasn't for the play of the QB we would be the 6th seed right now. Do we have holes yes we do but where not as bad as you think. We need WR more then anything and you don't have that on your list.

i think he covered that with the fl notation.

and he is absolutely correct, there are ALOT of holes on the team just like many of us thought coming into the season. the team played fairly well for a period of time but they are not a very good team at this point.

I share the optimism and that's how I voted. I am not a football expert but seems like a team's success is mainly defined by the QB and Offense. Until Jets find a franchise QB, I don't think there will be too much success around here. But again with the draft picks and cap money, I am hopeful for next year.

Recently we went to 2 AFC championship games without a franchise QB.

    Hey gus

What I meant was a sustainable success like the one Pats have. It turns out those 2 AFCCG's were just a product of a good D and a run game. No success for the Jets with the same QB. Having a franchise QB like Brady or Manning or Brees, almost is a guarantee to be in the playoffs.

IF we make changes, I can be cautiously optimistic. If we do the same things next expecting a different result, not being insane I would be pessimistic or better yet, apathetic.

Being a Jet fan in the Ryan Era is like living in that movie "Groundhog Day".
