I think congress has more important things to do, but I welcome this investigation. The entire Patriots organization makes me sick.

Goodell folded like cheap lawn furniture. He should have suspended Belichick for at least four games and made him sit in the corner with a cheater hat on. Make him a pariah, AND take away his candy. And no, I don't have contempt for NE because they win. I have contempt for how the team is handled by most analysts. Look how Belichick has not only persevered but what doesn't kill him makes him stronger! What a load of cr*p. In all honesty, if the Patriots were my team, I'd be honest about it. As in I'd say, yep, we cheated, and we got sanctioned. We were formally warned by Tagliabue and the first game of the year under a new commissioner, we'll just ignore that and do what we want because we can. What bothers me is this blanket prevailing attitude of Patriot fans as if the the PATRIOTS were wronged. Pony up and I don't have half the problem I do.
This is exactly what I said...we got caught breaking a rule and paid the penalty. The problem is that none here are satisfied....and I think there is nothing that could have been done that WOULD satisfy this board, or others. As long as the Patriots keep winning, there will be no satisfaction on the part of Patriot haters, no matter what.
C'mon man...You don't think the cheating, and the team/fan's general arrogance has something to do w/ it?
My point being, when they start losing, noone will care anymore....and as long as they keep winning, they will be hated. If they win for the next 10 years, and the fans are all warm and fuzzy, would it make any difference? Of course not. If they end up losing for the next 4 years, people would stop caring. Doesn't mean we would be liked...just that noone would care one way or the other.
I guess I can agree w/ that. I just hate the generic Patriots fan that claims all of the contempt is based solely on jealousy. yes it has something to do w/ the success..mainly b/c you're always in the spotlight due to it..but the team's arrogance along w/ the cheating scandal are the primary sources of the disdain.
I don't think that's it at all, It's that a certain amount of players along with a coach who seem to think they don't have to play by the rules on and off the field but they can get away with it because they are winning.
Why is it that Congress always gives us the stoopididiest incompetent senators and congressmen to champion the interesting causes. Bare as the cupboards may be of honest, upstanding, and intelligent congressfolk - ONE is all we'd need. One!
If you listen to Goodell he sounds like an idiot when getting questiond on Spygate He said they locked the tapes up but they got out..... really why did nobody see what was on them when they got out? That was why the tapes got destroyed.... He doesn't even know how many tapes there were plus there were notes that they believed came from illegal means.
