Maybe we can get a government bailout and skip the 2009 season.

Are you referring to Mangini being fired?

That was the first piece of info that came out. Second we heard the Jets were going to contact Shanny about the job.

yeah...a government bailout might be viable option if we keep getting these rejections.

Right now, Woody & Tanny are like Louis Skolnick & Gilbert Low from Revenge of the Nerds....hopefully amongst all the rejection letters,at some point they'll find their Lambda Lambda Lambda acceptance letter....as long as they don't send a picture of themselves

Dude get off Steve Duemig and you'll see he's a good coach. He was good in Oakland, lost on the phantom "tuck rule." And in Tampa has delivered a Superbowl and 3 Division Titles.

He gets a lot of flack down here, but I would love to have him as a coach...He's in his mid 40's, fiery guy, and knows offense. Just hire a defensive coordinator and settle on a QB and this guy could work with the Jets.

It really isnt a good sign that two winning well respected coaches like Cowher and Shanahan dont want to coach the Jets. It might just have to with them not wanting to coach Favre if he comes back or maybe they want some GM control but it could also be because they may think the Franchise isnt run well.

I'm all for Spags or Ryan though.

I really thought the Jets could do well with an experienced head coach. Obviously the brass know something I don't, and will likely settle on a newbie. I'm already beginning to panic because there are more vacant spots than quality coaches available.

I want to see some headway with Spags after tomorrow, and want to see the Giants and Ravens eliminated as soon as possible.

Shanahan couldn't last in NY. He was treated like a king in Denver, we'd crap all over him. He'll go to Detroit, where if your 9-7 you get a parade.

Shows you how seriously Woody takes the Jets. He leaves the country while they are searching for a hc. Nice of Woody to blow off what would have been a good candidate!

Clearly, you don't know how nice the skiing is in Switzerland this time of year. He'll get around to the HC thing sometime between now and Bora-Bora.

Did anyone consider that both Shanahan and Cowher may want to take breaks from coaching? Who knows what happened, cant just blame the management right away.

From what I read, Shanny wanted 2 weeks to think about his future, and the Jets kind of moved on after that....

ESPN is saying the Jets AREN'T interested in Shannahan or Marty Schott.

And this is funny. A large number of you have been tearing Brett apart over Cowher not coming here. Now reports say it's because Woody wasn't there. Now your going after Woody. Am I the only person left in Jets nation who'd rather sit back and let things unfold before jumping to any conclussion? I haven't heard Cowher say anything on the subject, so as far as I'm concerned, at this point, he just didn't want to coach. Quit taking everything you read and everything you hear and turning it into biblical truth.

This is the most annoying thing about this site. Here's the typical off season topic so far....

    In random conversation...

Jet Fan 1: "Wouldn't it be funny if the Colts cut Payton Manning to save cap room?"
Jet Fan 2: "Yeah, and then the Jets signed him, and traded for Fitzgerald and Bolden."
Jet Fan 1: "That'd be cool."

Later, on theganggreen.com, Jet Fan 1 makes a new post claiming to have heard the Colts were going to cut Manning and the Jets were interested. Jet Fan 2 will then post that since this developed, he heard the Jets were also looking agressively to trade for the Cards 2 WRs to compliment Manning in NY. Then, everybody learns it isn't going to happen and it's all because Favre wouldn't endorse it and Mike Ditka wouldn't coach the Jets unless the deal happened. Meanwhile, Woody Johnson was at Kraft's house finding ways to further sabatoge the Jets future. On top of that, reports surface claiming Kerry Rhodes has been f-cking Revis' mother and can't stand playing with him.

PEOPLE....GET A LIFE! Discuss facts and possibilities...but don't turn possibilities into facts!

    Thank you.
