I think a major factor in Sheldon's NFL suspension is going to involve the fact that he didn't inform the Jets before this became a big headline. From a PR perspective, the league needs teams to be 100% aware of all potential legal & media snafus. Gives them a chance to proactively put out or minimize anything that can hurt the league's image. As an example for the rest of the league & future NFL players, I'm expecting a hefty penalty. The league needs all players today & in the future to know they better get their teams involved early if there are any potential media shit storms coming.
If you think they will dismiss Sheldon's case, I hope you're right. That would greatly surprise me if they did that, though I've been surprised before.
Well I just assumed you knew I meant with community service. I think that's all he'll get. Community service and a fine. Possible loss of license. I have family down there, they have serious stuff and murders down there. They genuinely don't hold traffic offenses to the extreme. Sent from my VK700 using Tapatalk
Seems to me this will end up like the Bell case from last season with a suspension coming to open the 2016 year. I can't imagine they will suspend him before he is convicted but I guess it's been done before. I would rather him be suspended two games next year than an additional two this year.
agree completely--Sheldon's lawyer will stretch this out into 2016 if for other reason than to spread out additional league consequences.
I'd rather just get the whole thing out of the way this season but I won't argue with getting Sheldon back week 5.
Hopefully he will be ready to play in week 5 without having the option to work with the team during the suspension. Oh, we have our bye week 5..perfect timing. Also interesting that he is due back in court the day after his 4 game suspension concludes...what a coincidence...right.
He's allowed to be at the team's facility during the suspension. If it were a PED suspension or personal conduct suspension, he'd be prohibited from the facility
I guess that doesn't give you any advantage and you're right, I just found this. As long as he can work out and attend meetings he should be ready and hopefully being there keeps him from getting into any more trouble. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/08/sheldon_richardson_jets_suspension.html
True enough, dumb, yes, but I was 6' at 12 years old and I can remember my uncle taking me out for some fun driving at that age. Maybe not 140 miles an hour... Like I said. Dumb, yeah, terrible, no.
Sheldon has to keep this out of the leagues hands as long as possible. If somehow roger gives him more than 4 more games he might get his year accrued, which would push back his ufa year.
no way in the world he gets 4 more games for speeding and that's all he is charged with, the rest were dropped.
I'm sure anybody with a kid knows that the cop had to have an up to date radar detector certification report in the vehicle and had to produce it if asked to do so, without that there is not even a speeding ticket..that might be why he plead not guilty.
Haha I'm no freak of nature, I'm about 6'2" plus a little, but growing up I hit my growth spurt early. Say 5'11 if you want, and gangly as fuck but I was pretty tall
Dude, I really have to ask you about this. What the fuck does having a kid have anything to do with knowledge of radar certification reports?
