Why the f*** is every good play the result of luck around here? Unbelievable. Every other team gets a big play and it's called...a big play. Our team gets a big play and it's called a fluke or lucky play. Ridiculous.
The team moves the ball pretty effectively each week thus far and have scored in the red zone with TD's and not FG's. While our running game does not have stellar stats and is pretty awful, it has still been there making positive plays late in the game. I think our offense, is not pedictable anymore. We can complete big out patterns, we can let our receivers make yards themselves, we can use motion to ploy the defense. Al in all I then Schotty has grasped the fact that everyone is our offense can get involved at some point in a game .
ya its definately isnt predictable anymore, i didnt think they would actually sneak on that 4th down, anyways, now in a 3rd n long situation chad doesnt throw the short pass, he goes for it and instead of running on 1st down all the time like b4, we go for deep passes which has excited very much, but our running game needs to jump on the band wagon and give us more
Man I hope he devises ways to get Washington the ball a little more. That guy is a big play waiting to happen in the open field. Schott has exceeded all expectation as of right now. Our Oline isn't really suited for a traditional run game, so hopefully we adapt and do more things that involve moving the lineman around, like more screens and trick plays. We will have to pull out all the stops this week.
WTF does luck have to do with football? How about giving some of our players some credit for showing why they are in the NFL!
I think he is doing a solid job, he is still learning. He is MANY MANY years away from even being considered for a HC position. But I will take him as my OC, he plays to Chads strength.
There are 2 ways to keep defenses honest: 1) have a good running game 2) staying with the run. There is no way we can maddenize our offense and pass every down. In order to sell the play fake at a somewhat respectable level, we have to continue to run, even if it means 1, 2 yard gains on first down.
I was in the stadium yesterday, and I can tell you with certain authority that Penningtons passes yesterday would have been blown all over the field by that wind. The strategy they employed was perfect for the conditions.
amen to this post.....last several seasons everyone bitches that we don't get big plays...now we do and they're "lucky" putting the ball in the hands of play makers is the first step in making a big play.....thus far, that seems to be happening
a few plays in the 2nd qtr had me rolling my eyes...he came good later on but with a big wind, you gots to get it down field and let coles and cotch do their thing. sure, the wind can play agianst you but still got to take advantage when we can. overall im not going to have a go at him as he has impressed me immensely.
