You're right enough, I would have thought that football would be a big user of analytical data and when that data is damning then action would be expected. We will have to wait and see.
Nope, just thick as fuck. Of course, this leads to the question of whether pot is just a harmless drug or something that is highly addictive and a brain rotting substance? Sometimes the evidence for the latter is overwhelming tbh and I liked a joint or two back in the day but had no interest in smoking it all day long.
I remember in the 80s hearing stories of players, offensive linemen specifically, taking dance classes to make their feet more nimble for the game. Apparently it didn't do much for their play recognition or common sense though.
The nitwits at the NFLPA that constantly fight for reduced training camp schedules don't realize that they're only hurting their own union base. The less practice time the more the players will inevitably struggle. The owners could give two shits about giving that away in negotiations though because they're not giving away money.
Or only are they not giving away money, their expenses go down with less practice. It costs money to staff a practice, less practice less overhead.
Plus its not good for the bottom of the roster guys trying to stick in the league. Less practice is less opportunities for them. But the negotiating block is coming from the league veterans so they ask for less practice for their own gain even though they are supposed to represent every player's interest. Its sad to see
