It's a little disrespectful...And if you're going to make the call, you probably shouldn't tell the whole world about it.

FITM, do you seriously just take contrarian views for the sake of getting into pointless debates? Willie's fine, Scott Gomez sucks, and Bush is treated unfairly by the media!

i wouldnt mind seeing gary carter on the coaching staff as bench coach or something, but since he opened his mouth that seems unlikely now.

Carter's a self-serving assclown. The only reason I'd ever want him on the Mets coaching staff would be the comedy resulting from Keith trying to restrain himself in the booth.

what you really mean to say is that it is time to fire Omar. He created this team....he hasnt built any sort of a farm system....he should be fired yesterday

there is and always has been a professional courtesy in ALL sports that dictates one never pines for a job that is not officially available. it is classless and obnoxious.

I agree, but it does no good firing him now. Give him the rest of the season.

    Fire that bum today

The Mets have been a sub .500 team for the last 150 and some odd games (since June 1st, 2007). Cleansing NY of Willie and Isaiah within a span of a few weeks would be awesome.

I love how the reason this team is under .500 since June 1st, 2007, isn't because of the players.

Well, All i have to say about this is that they should have fired him after last years embarrasement and this is what they get for sticking with a loser Although truthfully, its not his fault his team is full of premodonna players that have "mental lapses"

Wow, New York fans want to fire a guy? Didn't see this coming. The answer to everything is always fire the coach/manager.

Thank god the Mets wonderful owners don't want to be seen as "reactionary" and are willing to sit on their hands as they alienate a majority of the fanbase, going into a new stadium next year.

Blame Omar for bad contracts, not for a shitty team. It's not Omars fault the team blew a 7 game lead last season, or that the mets are terrible this season... Before the season started the mets were supposed to be the best team in the NL. Its not his fault Reyes is lazy, or Beltran cant handle pressure.

Blame the manager for not getting anything out of his players. Blame the players for being lazy.

Isn't contracts the #1 thing a GM is responsible for?
