Considering the NFL handed them the game against the Ravens this week with some ticky tack bs calls they're lucky that they still have a shot. They also need Denver to lose oh and also beat the Phish so whining about the Jets game is sour grapes.
So what if the NFL Flexed Miami-Pitt? Than After the pats destroy Houston and The Jets either a) blitz the fuck out of Palmer and inadvertently he re injures his knee or b) The Bengals look up the scoreboard and see the Pats destroying the Texans, pull Palmer and the starters. Than your punishment is fucking the NFL fans with a late game vs 2 eliminated teams. Plus having to read another one of my poorly structured rants.
I do definitely agree that Jets, at home, fighting for is a spot in the playoffs is the most interesting game for Sunday night football and I'm glad it benefits the Jets and I will be delighted if we win on Sunday just because Bengals rest their players. I'm also glad this happens to the Steelers, given all the help they have gotten through the years with bs calls and whatnot. Still, who makes it to the playoffs or not shouldn't have anything to do with the order the games are played in the last week.
Thats the truth, Ravens did take a beating in that game. Regardless, Steelers put themselves in that spot. They usually catch most of the breaks and the Jets dont. So for a change, we catch a break. Actually a couple and Im not sorry for it. The way this season has gone, its really a nice feeling. Screw 'em, they have won a couple of SB's this decade, let them sit home.:steelers:
In all fairness, only the original poster feels that way. The rest of the Steelers fans in that thread agree that the Steelers screwed themselves.
Welcome to flex scheduling. If the Steelers were not a middling team who did not control their own fate in the playoffs, they'd be playing on Sunday night and the Jets would be at 1.
Really the more I think about it, I am sure that the Bengals would rather play this team than the Steelers or Ravens. We are not a division rival, are not playoff tested, rookie coach and QB, just too many things favor the Bengals in a playoff game. I think they play their starters for a bit, then take a first hand look at how we play and prep for the playoffs. I think we are a good match for the Bengals and think we have a good chance to win in the first round. Its just a matter of Rex keepin Schotty and Sanchez in check.
Is there really any difference between the #3 and #4 seed in the AFC this year anyway? Would the Bengals really treat this game any differently if it were being played at 1 pm instead of 8 pm? First of all, the #3 and #4 seeds will play teams of equal ability in the wild card round. Is there much difference between the Jets, Broncos, Ravens, etc?? Second, would it really be any better to go into SD in the divisional round as opposed to Indy? I don't think this game means a thing to Cincy either way.
Read the thread, its only the OP whining. That andthe OP of this thread stiring up bullshit by posting it here. Most steeler fans agree they did this to themselves.
please stop your bitching -- if Miami kept the tarp on the field in 82 the Jets make the super bowl, if they don't have 5 turnovers in the second half in 98 they make the super bowl, blah blah blah....they should be thankful that the Ravens gave back all kinds of points on Sunday to let the terrible towel flutter for one more week
Surprisingly Pittsburgh really sucked balls this year. Fans of a franchise like that should not cry about this stupid shit. They have 6 super bowl wins in 7 appearances and 2 wins this decade, I'd kill all kinds of people to have that in my pocket.
I disagree with what you are saying.. the Jets didn't screw themselves by losing to BUF, MIA 2x, ATL, JAX in terms of playoffs. They screwed themselves of better seeding but no Jets fan is complaining. The Steelers lost to those teams and screwed themselves of a possible playoff berth and they are complaining. If Steelers want to make the Playoffs they win those games instead of complaining about the Colts.
no, you can't even remotely reasonably agree at all. the next time the TV schedule dictates playoff participants will be the first time, so it doesn't have any advantage. the Steelers had 15 other games that they controlled, whining about a broadcast decision is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard.
What about the 2 games moved because of snow? I can not remember a game moved because of weather in the NFL.
Bengals will likely be sitting their starters anyway, whether the Cheats win or lose. This actually doesn't have a huge impact. The SNF game had to be Jets-Bengals or Cowboys-Eagles. The rest of the games don't have the requisite significance. Jets-Bengals will be to decide a wild card spot, and possibly to decide 3 vs. 4. Cowboys-Eagles is for the NFC East, and an Eagles win means a bye. Steelers-Dolphins is pretty meaningless by itself.
