he did nothing matched up w/ revis, I don't think he had a catch and revis had an INT. Most of Jackson's production came on that last drive where we were in prevent up 10 late.
Pretty sure he made some plays early in that game also that resulted in multiple first downs. Bigger plays were made towards the end, I agree with that assessment. But it's not like he disappeared then magically showed up when the game was pretty much decided. Had to go back and check the play by play. I wish I recorded that game. Plays were left on the field for Jackson potentially, but airtight coverage by Revis didn't allow him to make any big plays down the field. Especially in that first half. Revis played at an incredibly high level that game. Especially that insane INT
Don't forget, players that match with Revis aren't matched every single snap. Sometimes they switch up coverage and the player will get catches on somebody else. Vincent Jackson didn't put up all 111 yards on Revis. 2011 - Revis vs Jackson Catches: 1 yards: 15. Revis was on him like a blanket.
So if Steve goes for 1 catch, 5 yards, and a TD, is that a win for Stevie? I don't think so. I would define win if Revis holds his guy with in 50 yards. Or one TD and under 30 yards. Anything over 60 yards against Revis is pure gold. If every receiver goes for 60 yards against Revis, they end up with a 1,000 yard season.
Stevie is an excellent receiver. He's got good speed and Revis said it himself once that the only guy that gave him any trouble was Steve Smith of the Panthers. Not that he had a field day against Revis (Revis had two picks), his QB sucked. However, I think Revis will shut down Stevie in meaningful snaps. A quick 5 yard strike on 3rd and 10 is not a meaningful play. Short catches against vanilla D is also not meaningful as Revis is asked to keep his man within 10 yards or whatever. Shutting down a receiver doesn't necessarily mean zero catches. I think Revis keeps his guy with in 5 catches for 40 yards, no TD.
Oh yeah that was taken into effect, no way would Revis in prob the best CB season ever would allow that many yards. I'm just implying it wasn't as easy as many would think.
