They don't vote. They can be tossed from the religion for voting (aside from specifically writing on the ballot that they refuse to vote); they can be tossed from the religion for joining the military; they absolutely feel that they're better than average Americans from a morality standpoint. Again, I fail to see how this makes them anti-American. They make no attempt to diminish or destroy the American government. Hell, they pay their taxes to pay for the military despite their objections. In fact, they have VERY explicit instructions for their congregations to pay every penny they owe and not attempt to avoid a bit of their taxation. They pay for leaders whom they will never help to elect. They follow the laws of this country, they pay for its leaders, laws, and practices; they just don't take part in its politics. I don't consider that anti-American. It's a fucked up religion. My wife's uncle and his family will speak to us, but are forbidden to speak to her father, who left the church years ago. Fucked up and stupid? Yes. Anti-American? No.
got his nose broken and facing serious charges. good, fucker. also, stop letting your kids give themselves stupid stage names
Voting is part of every american's duty as a citizen. People who don't vote should be asked to leave the country or their citizenship should be demoted. True story
Throw in that his kid gave himself a moniker with God in it and then he talks through a very solemn moment for New Yorkers. I understand if you don't want to show your respect for whatever reason but to disrespect all the people around him in a way that would make himself a target. That's ridiculous and he deserved anything he got. Nobody forced him to bring that taser into the stadium and I think he knew what he was doing. He was trying to make a statement and he premeditated the entire situation by bringing the taser into the stadium and then knowing people would get pissed off at him so he could make that statement. I hope Mr McKelvey goes away for a while.
Instead of a stun gun, dude should have hidden a box cutter in his belt buckle, or shoe. Apparently that man has no appreciation for historical accuracy.
While we are at it, why not put people, that do not or would not vote, into internment camps, that worked well in WW2, amirite?
Fuck this guy and his religion. He can't stand up at least out of respect to those who lost their lives on 9/11?
Agree the guy is a total douche bag and deserves to be prosecuted for bringing an illegal weapon into the stadium. I don't get the whole dis thing making him a target among civilized, law abiding citizens of the US attending a football game, even on the anniversary of 9/11?
Nope. They shun human conflict which makes this story about the guy being a devout witness laughable. They're all about loving each other and want to save EVERYONE from obliteration at armegeddon, which is why they knock on your door on fucking holidays and shit.
Nice article. It definetly takes a NY POV regarding this but sadly, not that it counts for much, but alot of people outside of the NY/NJ area might see it differently than those of us who still live there or grew up there.
Jehovas witness or not, on the 10th anniversary of 911, EVERYONE SHOULD BE STANDING. You do not have to put your hand over your heart, take your hat off, or anything like that, but you should be standing just out of respect of where you are...IN NEW YORK, and for those that lost their lives due to a cowardly attack. Then this retard brings a Stun Gun on top of that, WHILE wearing a cowboys jersey??!?!!? This sounds like a gentlemen who was sick of his front teeth. I hope the Jets fans took care of that for him.
No, I'm glad to see you are around! Did I miss your "it's been 42 years since the jets have brought a superbowl to NY" thread?
I thought the beauty of this great country is that he doesn't have to AND on top of that, can voice his opposition to doing so and not worry about getting his ass kicked as a result.
