Yea I’m thrilled he chose to make this decision but he made it knowing full well we are a historically inept franchise entering this year with an inept QB.

    NYJ fans are the worst.

Not one game has been played and it's always this shit.. Every year, NYJ fans always on the wrong side of it. Boggles my mind.

Maybe ya'll are right, JF flops, the offense is shit, AG isn't who I think he is. Cool.....

If you guys are right. Can't wait for 15 more years without the playoffs. So exciting.

    Ya'll suck sometimes.

If you can’t figure out why this entire article was written then I think your OSU fandom is clouding your judgement. A fan didn’t write this.

I get the flip side of it. I’m not advocating to try a bomb on every drive but we watch teams go what seems like a month without even trying it every year.

It’s an exaggerated example and Clausen fucking sucks on top of being on the road against an elite defense. But the Bears ended every drive with a punt.

    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201509270sea.htm

    10 drives. 10 punts.

I’m very conservative with fourth down to go decisions, taking FG’s over touchdowns, etc. But I can’t stand teams not taking some chances down the field in the passing game. Especially one with a QB situation like ours that’s going to help the rest of the offense by backing the defense out.

the game has gotten boring for sure. Run, safe pass, and a tush push x2 if necessary.

That’s how the best teams play right now- even KC with Mahomes who has the strongest arm I’ve seen

I’m actually pretty disappointed that the Jets chose Fields over Jameis. I don’t get the leagues apprehension in giving him a chance? Gardner Minshew, Daniel Jones, Fields, Taylor Heinicke, Drew Lock, etc. have all gotten opportunities to start the season as a teams QB since Jameis was last an opening day starter.

I like Fields and I get the potential career revival upside but as soon as this team goes down, we’re going to be in trouble if we can’t control the clock.

Aaron Glenn doesn't seem like the kind of coach who wants or who will tolerate a QB to throw 5 INTs in a game. And that's what Jameis is gonna do at some point quickly if he's a starter again.

It's a passing league and we've chosen to try to win by embracing "ground and pound" once again, yet for some reason expecting different results.

Well the good thing is that Jameis has never thrown 5 INT’s in a game :).

Point well taken and I don’t disagree. I think it would help the rest of the team develop a bit more “always having a chance” though.

True, but with Fitzpatrick now long retired, Jameis feels like the last of a dying breed of gunslinger QBs who couldn't care less how many picks they had already thrown in a game. He's slinging that thing.

We saw Sanchez do it. We saw Fitz do it. If Jameis was a Jet, by golly we'd see him throw 5 picks in a game too :p

I think Jameis being a clown hurts him. This is a serious league and it’s hard to take him serious

Definitely correct. But give me the clown who can sling his way through a shootout (for better or worse) over the stoic piece of drywall that sends screen passes into the dirt and forces an OC to play a conservative style that leaves you screwed once you’re down 10.

it doesn’t really matter to me they are both bad starting QBs at the end of the day.

I wish Jameis was here, in addition to Fields, to provide some competition but I don’t prefer him in anyway

Winston is a smart ass clown. That bullshit he pulled in New Orleans, ignoring the coaches, was his undoing. Him actually being on a team is nothing more than a testament to his talent. If he has one shred less he would be out of the league. I want no part of Winston. It's a guaranteed fact, supported by many examples, that he WILL do something to undermine the team. Turnovers, going off script, whatever. Winston has all the talent in the world with nothing between the ears. I'll take TWO of Fields over a guy like Winston. Not going to say anymore on that guy as he's not worth the waste of typing.
