If your watching Alabama vs Auburn you can see for yourself why I wrote earlier that we need Trent Richardson(over 200 yards) he is an absolute beast and would make life easier for Sanchez

draft people please correct me... but I believe Richardson is all but a lock to be a top 10 pick. Which we have already played our way out of, and will be impossible to acquire if we actually make the playoffs. Ill be fucking pissed if we trade up for a RB who will probably only last his first contract in green and white...

I thought RBs need holes to run through in the NFL. Drafting a RB is not going to make one bit of difference until the OL and play calling are fixed.

Greene is no all star, and LT is over the hill, but at the risk of beating a dead horse this all goes back to the OC. When defenses are free to stack the box and the middle of the field because they know they only have to defend dinks and dunks, that puts them in prefect position to stop the run. Other teams run the ball by spreading the field with multiple receivers and running up the middle. Jet's never spread the field and run up the middle.

The Jets would not be a top rushing team regardless, but a predictable offense and a dink and dunk strategy is not one conducive to establishing a run game.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the whole stadium knowing half an hour before when we're going to run the ball... mmm...

Unless we end the season the way the Phins started it, we will most likely have no shot at him.

In a way I'm kinda glad the ground and pound may be dead. While it may be a good strategy along with a good D, IT'S FUCKING BORING TO WATCH.

Give me a number 1 rated defense AND an aerial assault with a killer run game like non other.

I want to see the Jets routinely pound teams 45-3 with over 500 yards of offense.

Fuck ground and pound games won in the 4th qtr by 3 pts.

Kill shotty and get Mike Martz in here ASAP.

Just so you know, Chicago was 32nd in the NFL last season in pass attempts.

We wouldnt even sniff Trent. IMO he won't drop like Ingram. He will go top 10-15. Where we most likely won't be.

Despite the numbers I still think Shonn Greene can still be a productive every down back.

    - Bad o-line play (same excuse Sanchez defenders use so I'm going to use it)
    - Horrible playcalling with no deep passes the entire game allowing teams to stack against the run
    - Inconsistent and erratic QB play which has defenses not respecting the passing game (ie. Sanchez sucks)

Taking this into the account and using the eye test the running game has actually been fairly decent.

Do the stats not suggest Greene is getting the same average yards after contact as he did last year? Sure I heard that somewhere.

If I read the stat correct, ESPN said the Jets have 4 games this season where they did not rush for 100 yards. They only had 3 in each of the last two seasons.

Shonn Greene is not a feature back , what this tema needs is a Veteran Rt and an upgrade at LG. Slauson is adequate nothing more.

We shouldn't draft RB its 3 out of the following Oline/olb/oline/ilb in the first 3 rds next year. Safety in FA!

Another step in the right direction today.
138 yard rushing ... 6.0 yards per carry.
We contnue to trend upward and that's all that matters to me.

averaging 6 ypc, and we only run 21 times. In a game we werent really ever down, and with Mark playing terrible outside most of the day. Thats terrible coaching, and we needed to run it more. specifically i remember one 3 and out with 3 straight passes. unacceptable (at that point i believe we were averaging 7.3 ypc too) then there is that 3rd and 2 miscommunication as well...
