On a serious note though, they knew Milliner was injury prone when they drafted him. What exactly did they expect to change? Dee Milliner is what he is... A brittle CB in a league where brittle gets you cut.
The injury he suffered last season generally takes 2 years to recover from. I'm hoping Dee is using this time to get his body stronger. He always seemed to come back from a injury too soon or play through a injury and overcompensate another part of his body which he would end up injuring. He will be here next season fighting for playing time since the team will most likely let go Cromartie.
What really blows about the Milliner pick is we could have had Kyle Long, DeAndre Hopkins, Tyler Eifert, Cordarelle Patterson or Eric Reid....THAT's what blows. All Pro-Bowlers... Have we even gotten a 100 full snaps out of Dee? I guess between 100 & 200 full SNAPS!
Yeah, that was all part of Idzik's master plan, and Revis.....nevermind, that's another can of worms, and I digress
cordarelle patterson is a terrible WR, If we drafted him everyone here would be complaining he sucks.
Biggest problem is he'll count too much in dead money to cut next season. He's got us by the short and curleys
To be fair, most experts thought Milliner would be a top 5 pick and believed that he actually fell to the Jets at 9. Plus, he certainly had injuries in college but he was almost always able to play through those injuries during games. At the time I personally didn't love the pick because I felt like we were only drafting him to "replace" Revis, in a sense, but its not like drafting Milliner was an idiotic pick at the time. It just hasn't worked out so far... Life goes on.
The knee jerk reaction to the very mention of his name is humorous. Do those of you people feel vendicated somehow by making slanderous references about the guy? I just don't get it. I could understand if he was the second coming of Kyle Wilson and just sucked, but the guy hasn't been able to play. The limited time he has played he looked both like a rookie and the prospect we drafted him to be. For those of you saying we should trade him this would be the worst thing we could do. We wouldn't get anything for him at all, we're not going to get what he is in return which is a lottery ticket starting CB with elite potential. What trade our #9 overall pick for training camp fodder, no thanks. The frustration is justified but misdirected.
In case U haven't noticed, we weren't much better in the Golden Years: Lee White, Paul Seiler, the list goes on.
They should all be cut. Not one pkayer on this team has helped the nyj hoist the vlt. Amiright champ?
